So does anybody know what 5770s still come with the original shroud casing. Dont like the look of the egg style ones.. even though you cant tell from the pics:confused:

Well thats what i thought, but then im sure people on this thread have said that theirs had come with the egg shaped cooler, powercolour, sapphire etc:confused:

Both cards within 1-2.c of each other.

This is worrying me now. Some people with an Xfire config are like me and have the top card 10c higher than the bottom card. Others like this chap do not. Anyone else able to input on this?

maybe it's the way Xfire works on an X58 chipset?

I thought that the top card would always be slightly hotter than the bottom card because the top card is sucking hot air in, which is being given off by the bottom card? That was the case when I was running sli.

I have a 120mm fan that blows air directly over the graphics cards, which is probarbly why my cards stay at the same temp. In my case i have 4 x120mm fans and 1 x140mm fan so my airflow is quite high as well

ok I've swapped em around and it turns out one card runs hotter whatever position it's in. At the same clocks, one peaks at 77 load and the other at 90 load. Would you RMA?

cant wait till i get my 5770s :) got one coming in my new build from oc when it ships and ill add an other one for christmas :) Then i got an excuse to buy some new monitors LOL

To me 90.c seems way to hot, It could be the contact with the cooler and heatsink is poor. You could re do this yourself but this will void your warranty which if its not that could be a bugger. Even loading mine to max and turning of all my fans neither of mine get above 68.c and both are still within 1-2.c of each other.

Yea, Zalman VF950:

Completely silent too.

I used Enzotech MOS-C1 VRM sinks, one pack has 10 sinks, each card needs 9, or you can get a big pack of some green Zerotherm VRM heatsinks if you googe for them.

The VRM heatsinks remain very cool to the touch, they dont heat up anywhere near as much as the VF950 or the ramsinks are doing.

All those fan cables make my PC look a right mess.

No point buying these coolers if you get the Egg cooler though, they wont be any different.

Nice thanks mate,
Nifty system you got there by the way, very pretty, or handsome :) if you wanna see wires you should come take a look at mine! hehe, I do my best to hide them in the extra HDD and optical trays but it's all in vain to be honest.

I got the stock cooler, shame I didn't wait another week and I'd have got the ''egg-edition'' on offer, I was just too quick to judge on my bias for Sapphire.

Enjoying the card so far, seems a good leap from my 1800XT that's for sure.

One thing I was wondering about - and forgive me, I'm not very hardware savvy - the spec says the 5770 has a memory clock of 4GHz (Effective) whereas according to CCC it is 1.2GHz. How does that work?

Where are you getting your load temps from? There's no way it's that low under furmark stress testing mate. not unless you live in an ice cube!!!

Ok bit miffed! just ordered the powercolour 5770 as it's pictured with the shroud cooler and have now read there sending them out with the egg cooler, very misleading and theve been told this days ago and not updated the pic, though theve updated it today with the dirt 2 splash!

So now i have to p### about in the morning trying to get through to customer service to cancel :/

Sorry to hear that mate. Thats why i havent ordered tonight, as i needed someone to confirm what ones came with the egg cooler. Really not a fan of the look of them. I think the XFX card comes with the shroud cooler, but that would mean ordering elsewhere and not getting dirt free....

Anyone know if the HIS one on here comes with the shroud?

Lewdogga. Why would you want a 5770 when you have a 4980. The 4980 must be one hell of an exclusive card, I've never even heard of it! :p *Check Sig* :p

Because GDDR5 is equal to 4x the base speed, so 1.2 Ghz GDDR5 = 4.8 Ghz performance.
