** Official ATI 5770 Thread **

they should out perform, the 4870 is an older card with dx10, these are two dx 11 cards that cost the same amount and are new.

They compete with 4870 cards in DX9/DX10 games DX11 has nothing to do with it as 4870 will never compete.

5750 and 5770 got tested in MM this week and they thought that x fire 5750 & 5770 (which downgrades itself to equiv of 5750 for those that didnt already know) was between 5850 and 5870 in benchmarks atleast; which makes me wonder how DX11 api will treat them in future, same as above or as a 5750 and 5770

Personally I am starting to get quite excited at the thought of my 2 voltage tweak 5770's, good times could be ahead

Your card has at least another 6 months left before Dx11 games become more available. hang on to what you have and see what Nvidia and Ati have out in 6 months. With the current games you will see no advantage of getting a 5770 over what you have.

Im not talking about buying 1 im talking about buying 2 for crossfire, and possibly adding a third in the future. Next year money might not be easier to come buy due to money.

2 5770s in crossfire beats a 5870 buy some distance, apart from crysis. Crossfire 5770s seem like a good buy xfire might be awesome too.

5770 users might want to check out the latest version of AMD Overdrive, which now supports the GPU.

EDIT: You still can't overclock using the software, only temperature and load monitoring.

Im really thinking about changing my GTX260 for a pair of 5770 cards. The only thing stopping me is my slots only run at 16x4x in crossfire on my P55 board

the biostar ta790gx 128m does 8x8 , how much will it hold back 2x 5770's compaired to a board that does 16x16 ?

My board is 8x8 and i noticed a huge difference in some games between a single card. I can now run crysis warhead at 1680x1050 enthusiast settings with no problem. Some games there is no difference like Batman and Grid.

These cards by them selfs are not really much to look at however in crossfire and x fire they come to life.

well i did play a few games with ny 5770 last night and a bit today @1650x1080 and im really considering not crossfiring it with another as performance with one is amazing really to be honest;)
