*** Official Blazblue Continuum Shift Thread***

Finally got the ltd ed today and am amazed at the game :D

Love the mix of 2D and 3D :D the music is excellent.
Seems like there's loads of stuff to learn but it seems really fun so far.

The artbook and character cards are pretty cool aswell, would be nice if all fighting games came with character move cards of some sort.

I must say, I keep putting off starting this game (I hate to admit it, but I bought the last game and probably played it for an hour).

I really want to play it, it's everything I love in a fighting game:
- Awesome characters
- Great music
- Loads of modes

But it just seems so different to SSFIV that I'm finding it very daunting to get into. I quite like how the timing is slack on the inputs so you need to worry more about memorising the combos but I still find learning the strategy daunting.

I can't even remember how I learnt to play SSFIV. Any advice?

It's the best netcode in a current gen fighter. It uses ggpo.

Poor matchmaking would be a better way of putting it on reflection. The only person it's matched me up with of a similar skill level was half way across the globe so it was laggy. The other people have all been high tier and kicked my ass constantly.

Great game though, really beginning to get into it.

I didn't think it did. As far as I was aware Arc Systems hadn't licensed GGPO (could be wrong though).

Technically no, but Ponder (the main chap behind ggpo) assisted ArcSys with their netcode, effectively allowing them to reap most of the benefits of ggpo without the licence issues.
