Which is why i always thought it would be a good idea if ATI added a physical crossfire connection at the bottom of the boards themselves just past the PCIE lanes (so you dont need the top crossifre bridge).
I agree with you but other users might think differently. Because it would make the cost of the board more expensive. And it'd put off those people don't use Xfire setup at the first place(NV card users or 3870X2 users). The RRP of the bridge is around £14.99 and it's quite a lot of money as an extra cost. So ATI has decided to ship the bridges with the Xfire supported cards instead of building it on the boards. It is more flexible as well.
