I never understand Steam/Valve betas. Do you just hope they send you an invite? How do they know you are interested in beta'ing a game?
 
often betas you meet a certain criteria

csgo seems to be random

upto yet

ive emailed devs
twittered devs regular
posted in csgo section on steam
posted reg on official csgo site
entered many comps for keys
played on off since it came out
even got gazumped as i was buying a key !

0 key :(

thing is this is what i really want to play fpswise so annoyingggggg :p
 
well been playing since got my key today thanks 5ub :D

loving the game ! much prefer this to bf3 5v5 is a lot better no spam

graphics are pretty good and better than i expected . runs pretty sweet got as high as can ruinning it and it runs super sweet

joining matches is simple no join this login that join another and so on like battleog . friends just click you join simples.

I wouldn't mind a beta key if there is one going spare.

also, how does this run on older machines? say with 2gb of ram.
 
Got a Beta key today in 5UB's thread.

Have to say....the game sucks...maybe it will grow on me but i doubt it. :(
 
I can't get my mouse sensitivity the same as I had in css so I keep missing everything :(

Apart fro that i pretty much sorted out my config so it's very similar.
 
I have to say, as a HUGE fan and long term player I was wary about trying CS:GO. Now that 5UB gave me a key and I've had a chance to play I can say I've loved every minute ^^
 
Would really like to give this a go. I started playing HLDM then moved to TFC and got in on CS from the very early days. Back when you couldn't even pick a team! Had to join in order to get matches going :p
Some of the old maps were great as well, courtyard, siege etc.. Man the hours I put into CS was insane! Probably a good idea Steam wasn't really around then because I would be scared to see total hours :o
Has the beta thread stopped now? I was a bit late to it :(
If anyone has a key I would be grateful!
 
I played it for a brief 30 mins or so, from what i experienced it seems pretty good! It still has that CS feeling to it imo. I really like the quick join games, i don't have to mess about looking for a server which probably would be ran by douche bag admins with silly rules etc. Also it feels a lot faster in terms of gameplay compared to the other CS games and that is something i like! This could be my goto FPS game when it is released. :)

no as gaming should be click join go straight in and play all guns simples :cool:

tried to explain this to a dev other day. people dont need to join 8 things to play a game they want to just join and play.

on the game i was testing it was 8 steps before you could even play :confused:

will instantly buy this on pre order.
 
My first impression was a negative one, which is a shame because I had high hopes for this.

It doesn't feel right, it's not good enough.

For all the polish and streamlining of the interface which I do find an improvement, the movement feels like <insert id tech 4 game here>.

I'll give it some more time over the coming weeks, but it will be more through forcing myself rather than sheer desire to play.
