*** Official Dead Rising 2 Thread***

Does this support coop? Bit tired of games coming out on the PC and not supporting the same coop features as the console versions...

Seems it does but it'll probably only work through GFWL. Or so the Steam store page says. Shame its only limited to 2 player... i mean surely you could make it higher and let people decide how many they want to use.

Capcom are one of the few companies that actually do a decent job of giving us ports that; A. Work and B. Have most of the content.

Their old ones aren't great but recent ports have been excellent, much better than Rockstar etc.

Yep it does support 2 player Co-Op same as console versions. MP is 4 player deathmatch where you play several different crazy mini games which all involve butchering legions of zombies with crazy weapons like motobikes which have swords & knifes attached to them so you drive around a sports arena killing all the zombies you can whilst also avoiding the other players. There are several other mini games of this type in the MP deathmatch modes.

On PC this has the exact same game modes as the console versions. PC is getting much faster load times, much better gfx & FPS.

Wait what

Wireless controller won't work? So my crossfire + xbox pad won't be picked up at all? I thought full controller support was a given with ANY GFWL game? :s

Fix for Wireless 360 pad not working

http://www.mediafire.com/?smiu8n8vt1hd5ej

Extract to the Dead Rising 2 folder so it sits in the same directory as the game .exe (\Program Files\CAPCOM\Dead Rising 2) then it will allow you to enable the wireless gamepad in the game menu under PC Settings & it works perfectly. This I created by reading what others had said about how to get it working.

Capcom will patch it but for now this 68kb download does it for you!

If this does not work for you try this instead:

Download the Xbox360CE v2.0.2.62. http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/down...2.zip&can=2&q=
Run x360ce.exe.
Click yes to create x360ce.ini.
Load preset Controller (Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows).
Open advanced tab of controller and disable native mode.
Uncheck force feedback.
Click options.
Set FakeWMI to be EnabledUSB.
Set Fake DI to be EnabledCalback.
Check of Fake WIN Trust.
Leave the rest.
Check if your buttons/axes are mapped properly.
Save changes.

Now copy the dll & ini files to your Dead Rising2 folder.

Go to PC Settings and enable your controller (it won't be grayed out anymore). This method works 100% everytime as long as you follow this step by step.

Great stuff, thanks AWPC.

My copy has been dispatched this morning.

its running pretty badly for me on a GTX295/3.8Ghz i7, think its driver related though as everything else runs fine.

It's not drivers it's just another GTA4 affair of it being a poor PC port.

Wireless XBOX360 pad doesn't work either.

My PC plays it fine when no zombies around but it goes to 20-30fps when zombies in a room appear, even lower with more hordes.

It's very poor.

If you have a decent PC id reccomend it over a PS3.

Ive got a copy for PS3 and my PC and there is noticible FPS drops on the PS3 but when playing on my PC i don't experience these. Shorter load times are also nice.

Do you have "Blur Effects" off or on Khaaan!? ive read having this on makes the FPS drop quite a bit if you dont have this on then no clue.

Im just happy my 450GTS is keeping up when loads of zombies on screen and not getting any noticible slowdown or laggy gameplay.
