My setup was almost identical, I went just a little harder on the springs. I guess you just have more skills :D

I think I could be competitive with this, but I always stick to the games Dry setup :( I don't have a clue what setting to customise,

I don't really know either, however I have noticed that I like the rear springs to be quite hard for traction and oversteer with the front springs just a few off 11, around 8-9 for the front springs. Lowest amount of wing possible, especially the back wing as this slows the car down dramatically. I don't often touch the gearbox, unless I'm red lining 7th before I get the end of a straight. After that I just do many many laps, slowly adjusting camber/toe/balance until I set a time I like :)

But this isn't about being competitive anyway, it's just for a laugh.

I forgot that this is my least favourite track in the game. The large sweeping left-hander is a killer to get right. Needless to say I often end up in the dirt :p
 
Just did my first hour on this track. I like those sweeping lefts in 6th.

:( Is it at all possible to take turn 8 full throttle ? I always need to just lift ever so slightly, enough to hold a constant speed halfway through, before accelerating through the exit.

You mean those four sweeping lefts just after the 2nd sector time? Yeah, I never lift off there. Not that I get the line completely perfect, but I keep my foot down. You just have to be careful not to go too wide to the right after the third of those left sweeps, that's where it goes easily wrong.

Yup, those are the ones. I think my problem was just a lack of front down force. With that latest time I think I'm finally on to the right setup.

Well, though I haven't improved my time yet, I'm currently experimenting with 1/1 wings, and it's still quite easy to run the track, including full throttle on those left sweeps. So if you feel brave enough :D , lowest downforce might be worth a try. I see that someone on the leaderboard got into the 1:21's with redbull. I reckon he must have gone with lowest downforce to get that time.
 
That's what I'm setup on, 1/1 wings and upped the gears a notch, tried more front wing,
I'll be quicker on bends but lacking speed on the straights, gonna try springs/alignment settings if that can get me into 1.21s

Aye, wasn't too shabby. Although I think my xbox controller has just died, hmmm.

It's the wired one and the lights have gone out and won't come back on. Also lost it in game :(.

Hopefully it's not my USB controller on the motherboard.

Edit: Deffinetly the xbox pad. Plugged it into the laptop and the same thing happened, light ring flashes twice then nothing. Doesn't show up in control panel either. Bugger.

That sucks. Ah well, at least for you it died after and not before what might be the winning time of the week. ;) Unless of course mercyless pulls one out of the hat. He did it to me once in NFS Shift just as I was ahead of him (a very rare occasion for me) :p
