***Official GCSE Results Thread***

I'm so glad I actually get paid to do work now and I have none of these silly exams to take either. :p

This. :D

I was thinking about school the past couple of weeks, remembering old times and kinda missing it/getting all nostalgic. But then I remembered the panic mode that surrounds these exams, it's rather stressful and unnecessarily so.

well.. just got back and its safe to say that i am absolutely over the moon with my results:
5 B's
2 C's
2 D's
got english which i was really dreading and got B's in all the subjects that I am doing for A-Level

Uhh damn you guys are smart. Anant Shah those are really impressive results you should not be unhappy about those. Most of my friends facebook status' are, "buzzin got 3 c's lad". Buzzin' meaning good.

Edit - Oh and my brother got into Magdalen Uni in Oxford to study maths and he said he didn't do amazingly well on his GCSE's. He did well like a few A*'s and mostly A's but he said A levels are far more important.

I am so unbelievably angry right now. Just ridiculous

9A*s and 4A's

WTF

I just wanted double figures. Those grades are good. But NOT what I was expecting. I didn't get A*s in English, English lit, German , and Physics.

I'm VERY surprised about German and Physics. English is to be expected.

It's another record breaking year, yet I sink below expectations :(
Yeah, life is over. Your only choices now are Sheffield Hallam or University of West England ;)

Expectations were too high probably. Take what you have, which is far above average and is an excellent set of results even if you can't see that.

My parents just told me that because I accepted that a contract is a contract, and therefore accepted that I was below the bar and can't get a new pc, they'll get me one anyway. :D

Screw my grades, I'm happy again

3 A*'s

As delighted as I am, I still feel I could have pushed myself further and done even better, I suppose that's due to me never being satisfied with myself. I seriously look back over the 5 years of high-school and really, never gave it as much effort as I could have, plus the small fact that I did almost zero revision.
I'm so regretful.

Congratulations to all anyhow.

With your grades you can apply to any university for Medicine. The highest minimum my mate was telling me about was Birmingham which wanted minimum 5* for Medicine applicants.

Now what's important is your A-Levels and experience which is just as important for Medicine. Saw a number of people get rejected even with all As due to lack of it.

Good luck and enjoy college. I had an awesome time at college and would happily go back for a year :p

Lolwhat?

That is really good. Far better than mine. I only know a couple of my friends who got 10A*s or straight A*s.

Now you can guarantee yourself, along with similarly good AS levels, an interview at whichever uni you feel like attending.

Congratulations to you sir!

Now go and have some fun before term starts.

He is talking about medicine, I'm guessing.

If you want to do medicine, it doesn't matter where you do it!!!

When people say oh I only got an offer to do Medicine at Sheffield, I'm like:eek: thats really good, take it, and they are like but I really wanted to go to this place.

I understand some people's disappointment that they didn't get there first choice but If its for things like Medicine or vet med or dentistry then you should be happy you got a place in the first place, loads of people out there didn't get a place at all.

Sorry for the rant, anyway well done everyone :)
