**Official GeForce 6100/6150 Resource & Help Thread**

I'm using the following:

Biostar TForce 6100
Opteron 146 CABNE 0544
1.5Gb Crucial PC3200

all in an Antec Aria case. I previously had an AGP 6800LE that unlocked fully, so as you cna imagine, my gaming performance has dropped drastically using the 6100 chip! Once i sell the 6800 I'll hopefully be getting a PCI-E X800XL:).

I'm just trying to figure out the BIOS update thingy. FirebarUK: have you flashed to a later BIOS? The problem I have is that I don't have a floppy drive! Is there any way of doing a flash without a floppy?

so how has it clocked it yet p4radox u've been meaning 2 do it 4 2 days now and have u checked how much that socket A motherboard is???? so how come u wernt at sixth form???

lol Possum, death by lack of punctuation and txt speek. :p
the Opty is sitting at 2.4 currently, and seeing as I don't have a graphics card to play games with i'm not pushing it atm. The mobo will be for sale shortly. And I wasn't at school because I've been diagnosed with Tonsilitis. :)

Got to love these Tforce 6100-939 mobos, running my origional Winchester 3000+ at 235mhz Htt with 2x1gig Corsair Value ram samsung uccc and my ATI radeon x1600pro.
Very sweet setup and incredibly rock stable.
Best £51 i have spent on a mobo in a long time!!

Never thought of buying biostar before but Tforce is a great mobo lineup. Hopefully it will catch up with DFI and be cheaper.

Well up until now I've been mighty impressed with this little monster, but it seems the bios battery has given up the ghost ALREADY! Voltage reading is only 1.5V on VBatt and BIOS keeps resetting. Oh well, only a slight problem I suppose. I'm going to get the battery model no and go hunting for a new one.

p4radox, does the Biostar board have composite/s-video out capabilities? If so have you tested the quality?

Cheers,

Suman:
No it doesn't, just plain old VGA which is all I'd ever use so it's no problem for me:). It has this though:

I assume that's for the audio though...

/edit: it's labelled RCA and SPDif out

Damnit more problems. I took the BIOS battery out and measured the voltage with a multimeter - it's 2.91V, close enough to 3. So the sensor on the mobo must be a bit borked, and it hasn't reset itsself for a few days now despite heavy fiddling with the hardware. But now I don't seem to be able to adjust VCore at all. I mean, I can set it to 1.55V if I want, but it will stay at 1.36V regardless. Becoming quite annoying now, as I'd like to push my Opty as far as it will go on something like 1.55V, but I'm stuck at 250HTT until I can put some more juice through. :(

Dude, I've noticed something funny. Load up CPU-Z and see how your voltage fluctuates.... or even the monitor utlity. My voltages are up and down like a yo-yo!

Hi Firebar

My voltage rails and VCore are solid as a rock (Antec 300W PSU), and that's with Prime being run and halted, run and halted to see if the line wavers on the graphs. Straight line = solid rails I spose:).

I think I'm going to flash back to ma20 BIOS, the BO2 one seems less stable despite everyone on [h]ard forum saying it's the best. i'll keep you posted.

/edit, I see you're fishing for an Opty on MM, is it gonna go in the TForce? ;)

Hey,

Thanks for posting that up. Yes I've gone for an Opteron 144 in the end, will have it after christmas and it will be going in the Tforce.

My voltages on the X2 are fluctuating from 1.3 to 1.33/1.34 like anything. Very strange....

Oh right, well mine go from 1.36 to 1.34 every so often. It doesn't seem to be related to the load the CPU's under or anything, I run Prime or Superpi and it just seems to fluctuate randomly. It's nothing to worry about, such a small change is probably the sensor playing up, like my VBatt one is:p.

Also just had another thought: maybe the b02 bios is what's stopped me being able to play with VCore?... Hopefully the flash back to ba20 will remedy this:)

Right, this whole VCore thing is really starting to tick me off now. I've found the Biostar Windows overclock utility, but even that won't allow me to adjust VCore! Argh! Firebar - could you please try adjusting your VCore via the Windows Utility as below:

The Frequency and Multi will change but VCore won't budge

If I select 1.65v as vcore using the latest bios I actually get 1.49v ! This cause Prime 95 to fail after about 1 minute using my wichester 3000 at 250mhzx9multi for 2250mhz. Also vcore fluctuates between 1.48 and 1.50v, using everest ultimate edition to monitor vcore and temps.
