Not yet I don't think Jay, I think KingPin did some hard-mod to enable over-voltage and pushed near 2ghz core on phase cooling. If thats a sign of what it takes to over-volt a 680 then special editions of the card like the KFA2 HOF will be required to go higher as they have custom voltage controllers that can be adjusted.

Gradually working through the 30+ pages on OCN about the X3, so far it seems there are allot of unhappy 680 owners

Im not disappointed tbh, as its still an amazing card however what i am annoyed about is why it has to be locked to stop us from further clocking this card any further. Its cool and quiet which means plenty of potential!

If there is anything within the next few months i am contemplating selling for something more clockable.

This also makes it more believable that they're doing this because they dont want this series of cards to surpass the "real" firmi cards that might come out at the end of this year. What i'm saying is lock these cards now so it seems the "real" firmi cards will look faster and better than they actually are.

Will give my 670 to Martyr today so he can do some benchmarks for you guys in SLI. If you have any other unique tests you want run let him know now as he will probably only have the card for a few hours.

ETA for benchmarks will be around 8hrs from now!

I really dont trust those tweakTown results, we have to wait for some more reviews to clarify whether the gtx 670 is as good as it claims to be. And it all comes down to pricing as usual. Am wondering whether AMD will be able to lower the prices on the 7970/7950 for a second time but i guess if that benchmarks are true then they wont have an option really. Am most certaintly interested to see whats gonna happen in the next 2 weeks to come

Neither do I, but the thread on OCN seems to back it up, if true I hope to have at least one of these in my machine by the weekend

Nor do I, they seem to do two things:

a) Fly in the face of just about every other review site on the HD7970 vs GTX680.
b) If the GTX670 really performs like that, nVidia just killed the market for their own top-end card. Which would be utterly moronic.
