***Official GTX 670 thread***

Hi all, first post. Thought i would post my reference EVGA 670GTX SC scores.

I have a max stable(playing bf3 and run OC Scan) overclock of:

boost clock sits between 1286 and 1296 depending on core temp. gonna start working on getting mem higher as i reckon that has more to give me.

Happy to answer questions if anyone has some.

Sure no probs. I am ramping it up slowly to try and get the same OC that was stable on 3dmark 11. Here is one of the benches with the above settings. I think I can get it a little better.

Core 1320 (+ 129), Memory 7192 (+594):

WOW nice job Alex, grats on the clock that's give some 680 a good run, i would be very helpful for others to compare if you could also place your future overclocks in the following thread:

Cant wait for windforce to be delivered, mines going under water hopefully (custom Antec 620 mod hee)

EDIT **

Just seen MR-E-man results and it appears he is not that far off the windforce, considering his is the small pcb - not much in it at all, however its interesting how his Precision X shows max power target of 122%, whilst the windforce is capped at 111%... Maybe more to come from his card...

My best Heaven run today. I wish the bench didn't take that long to run!

Core 1342(+153), Memory 7114 (+552).

Heaven is obviously more stressful to the GPU than 3dmark11. I had to drop the memory frequency to get it to do a full run. Won't have time to do any more today but I think 1350+ is doable and stable on air.

Great work alex, nice score. 1342MHz on the core...excellent. Seems the Windforce is a corker of a card if you win the old silicon lottery. How loud are you finding the cooler?

Thanks. Not loud at all, very soft sound. Much quieter than my Asus GTX560 Direct CU II Ti cooler. That was like a jet taking off :p.

Wow that's very reassuring im moving up from a GTX 460 which is not that far off a 560, and wondering if the three fans and not too loud, then the water project could be scrapped lol

Thanks Kamz, posted on the other thread. Yes MR E-man has a higher max power target. Not sure what determines this. It could mean lots more to come from his card indeed.

Yeah but tbh the better cooling on the windforce maybe still give it an edge from preventing the boost downclocking due to temps issues. Alex hows your card set up in the case, do you by any chance have a side door fan blowing air onto your card? or just bog standard intake on the front and out take at the rear?

Kamz, I'm just using an Obsidian 650D with a 200mm intake fan and a Scythe typhoon at the back as exhaust. Incredibly good airflow but no special set up. Using the Maximus V Gene means there is considerable space for air to flow in the case.

Wazza, my windforce is full length PCB with one 6-pin and one 8-pin connector.

Can we all agree not to use virtu MVP for benching? As it seems to inflate scores and not give a true reflection of the cards performance.

Just installing my windforce now, just realised I didn't remove all the AMD drivers before I removed my 6950 :( Going to need to take a detour into safe mode me thinks.

Hey all, i'm just wondering what people with the KFA2 OC and the Windforce 3 card are getting as their FPS on BF3 and Crysis 2 on 1920 on Ultra/Max settings? a lot of benchmarks tend not to state how much AA they're using, wether it's 0, 2 or 4 etc and i'd probably use no more than 2xaa so i'm hoping with just 2xaa active on both games, that both of them will be able to give well over 60fps comfortably, if they can then i'll be snapping up a 670 instead of a 680, but any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you :)

Agreed no lucid virtu.
