***Official GTX 670 thread***

@bhavv, I don't think I have the latest AB beta looking at your screen, I have voltage +100mv but no power limit slider :p

I'll install the latest one shortly and see if it makes any difference, been using Precision X 3.02 for most clocks.

@Blackwhite, around that 1350mhz mark is the most any of us have managed (had 1369mhz for a BMAC run). Starting to think we are bios limited on the clocks.

OcUK now have the windforce branded as "The fastest and best overclocking"

Glad they still have 10+ in stock, plan to add a second card in the next few weeks provided I remember to get hold of an SLI bridge :p

I've been up all night playing around with my card before I decide whether I want to DSR it, the problem I have is I have a basic passively cooled gpu in my secondary PCI-E slot that powers my second and third screen, I tend to find if I go for the custom gpu's where the fans sit on top they pull in all the hot air off the other gpu, it's the reason why I tend to go the gpu's that expel the air out of the case, I had a windforce 560ti once and it was incredibly loud, no exaggeration, it put me right off windforce gpu's.

Not sure where I go from here tbh, still temped by the asus, I wonder if OcUK will get them in tomorrow.

Will you need that 2nd gpu any more, the GTX 670 can run 4 screens on it's own?

Erm no. An ooverclock of just 42 Mhz on the GPU and 850 on the ram gives an extra 6 FPS in Crysis 2:

Yeah that 42MHz is making all the difference, nothing to do with the huge 850MHz overclock on the RAM right? I bet if you left the RAM stock and overclocked the core by 42MHz and left everything else stock you'd get 1-2 fps.

Just what I was thinking.

The second and third screens are d-sub (analogue) only, it's a complicated set-up tbh.

Do you know if you can run a dual dvi cable off one of the 670's dvi socket?

** No hotlinking **

One of those /\

I have one coming off my secondary gpu with d-sub converters, if I could run that off one of the dvi sockets on the 670 it might help, then I could ditch the crappy secondary gpu once and for all.

Remember not to hotlink lowrider ;)

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work, The only thing is that you would get mirrored displays surely? Unless the card detects the splitter and two separate displays.

If it does just clone the displays (would seem pointless?) then you have two real options:

1. Look for HDMI/DispAly port to d-sub adaptors, worse case go HDMI>DVI>D-sub, then have all monitors on the 670 via DVI-DVI-HDMI

2. Run two displays via DVI, get a low power, low profile second card to power the third monitor, something like a GTS220. Something so small is about as big as a decent sound card and shouldn't effect temps too much at all.

That's what I'm wondering, I have a couple of old gpu's with just one dvi that use splitter cables to run dual monitors from one socket, if the 670's dvi's are capable of this it would be awesome.

If older cards support it then I don't see why the 670 wouldn't, buy the splitter, if it doesn't work DSR it :)

Edit: You do get direct HDMI > D-sub cables, pretty cheap too ;)

and 70% of all statistics are made up on the spot

and you don't even have a copy of BF3 so how comes you are the god of making comments on what card you need to run BF3?
(see how that works)

hang on, you post up laying in to me quite personally, then edit out your posts and report me?
that seems fair...
