I think your correct, I was being two optimistic there.
Hex core will reduce a lot when AMD have 6 core available. We should be gratefull for AMD as without AMD Intel would get away with crazy prices for all their chips.
£800 for a chip reminds me of 25 years ago when the first 386DX chips came out, no competition for Intel x86 chips back then.
It's a huge amount of cash but I guess it's all relative to the amount you have to burn! More relevant I think is whether you can make use of all that power, benchmarking aside...I wouldn't say don't buy one though, after all since when did hobbies make financial sense![]()
