****Official James Bond: Bloodstone Thread****

I've certainly enjoyed some Bond games in the past, I even thought TWINE was good on PSX, 007:Nightfire was fun etc.

This, I couldn't care less about graphics, it diverts way too much developer time away from actually making an enjoyable and well rounded game like those of old. I'm sick of beautifully-visualised games being a 4 hour on-rails walk through borefest. I'd rather have gameplay.

I'm curious to see how this is received, initial signs all point to it being totally off the radar of anyone, so not good.....

Console reviews are 76,75 and 50 on Metacritic, so looking decidedly average. Maybe worth a punt when it's in the Steam sales for less than a tenner. But seeing as it's published by Activision I won't hold my breath on it being cheap anytime soon or even ever.

For the little I know about this game, I have came to the following conclusions:

It is published by Activision therefore Bobby Kotick is involved somewhere (BOO BOO, HISS HISS)
Gameplay appears to be very average
It will be a "release and done" title
PC users will be lucky if it has a mouse driven menu
No Demo

It is pants.

Pre-ordered this for delivery on Friday for £25. I liked Quantum Of Solace, and got faith in Bizzare to make a decent game...least the driving sections....

High Moon Studios are developing this one (Handling the port) although they are owned by Activision.

Never played QoS.

I'm surprised to notice today that Quantum of Solace is 'only' £9.99 on Steam, it was £29.99 not long ago. An Activision game having a reasonable price shocker :)

When I read that, I thought Valve had cocked up the pricing. Did not that think that Activision had intentionally lowered the price.

I am tempted to buy it, is it worth ten quid? Has it got a reasonable length SP campaign, say 5 hours?

A little part of me died when I read that... it is true.

Very sad that in current times, 5 hours in all honesty, is about average for a SP campaign :(

Well, the problem with this game is that you cannot find a decent way to play it. Yoy use keyboard and mouse and driving parts suck. Yoy use xbox controller and can't shoot straight... I ended up exiting to the menu, switching control around to play different parts...
It's not bad though.... Problem is that it 's not cheap and at that price there are much better games out there...

Why in games are guards always facing the opposite way from the most obvious direction of attack?

Looks massively contrived. I love it :D

Defo picking up when it is cheaper.

Was in Tesco today and I can actually get some discount on games seeing as family members work there.. So took a punt on this, it was after discounts etc less then £20 so why not...!!

TBH - it starts with a superb action sequence just like any bond movie, then it goes a bit slower and then it ends with just about everything being blown up..!!

I think its a good game, but its too short and the driving sections are too short, its over before you even get to really enjoy it. Played on normal you'll get about 5 - 7 hours out of this..

Graphically - its a console port, as a third person shooter its fine, melee attacks work well, think splinter cell with Bond.!!

Overall its a 7 maybe 8/10 game let down by its just too short. The reviews are overly harsh on it, but I think its the time it takes to complete that lets it down..

So, if you see it for less then £20 or its being sold on Steam for a tenner its worth it for the action but don't expect it to last long. It starts and before you know it, its over.

If the graphics were better, say MW2+, this would be an almost perfect sit on the sofa with a beer and go for broke game. Very cinematic, movie influenced game and doesn't pretend to be anything but.

If you go in with that mindset, you might find you actually enjoy it. Not for more than £20 though :p

bringing back an old thread to say that i brought it today (sunday) started playing it at 2pm for a bit had a big break then back on at 11 and now finished at 12.45 lol. short game but it was fun....i would give it a 7 or 8 really.
thought the graphics were pretty good, driving was good apart from one level and general shooting/stealth was cool too.
shame they shut down, had the feeling that if they did another it would be epic.

its not a bad game at all, very playable and enjoyable and really 4-5 hours is good enough for a quiet sunday night in!
