Crafting
Crafting will have specialization abilities where you can concentrate on one profession in your vocation, joining certain guilds with quests and opportunities to maximize your potential. Despite the fact that there will be no new crafting professions with Moria, the existing ones will get an additional tier to go with this specialization factor.

PvmP
PvP will be getting quite an upgrade with new features such as "capture the flag", where your side will gain certain buffs whenever they capture specific artifacts and return them to your base. An additional balancing mechanic will automatically add buffs to the mismatched sides within the Ettenmoors depending on the balance of the server at any particular time. This will help with those servers that are notorious for being too freep- or creep-heavy.

Trait Sets
The entire trait system will be revamped to allow the collection of traits in sets that will grant special bonuses. Once you collect all eight sets, you'll gain a legendary trait to fill one of three legendary trait slots. These trait sets help define one of three clear paths that your character can choose to follow with your "build", allowing an easier example to lead for friends who may want to advance their character in similar ways. These trait sets are class-based with three available per class.

In addition to all of this, we'll also get more instances, a new 12-man raid, a level cap increase to 60, new deeds, traits, items and just about anything else you can imagine you'd want in an expansion. Turbine has certainly shown us their specialty for providing loads of content in the past, and Mines of Moria will certainly be no exception to this rule. Moria will be a must-have for all existing LotRO players, as well as those waiting for an excuse to finally get into the game.

The screenies look to be in Medium. In Ultra-high the game is visually stunning!

I kind of gave up on PvE Lotro over 8mths ago, but i loved the Ettenmoors on Laurelin. MoM expansion was an opportunity to re-vitalise the Creep v Freep experience but it seems they have totally borked it and it wont change for a long time if ever ... Yes i know the MP is kind of bolted onto the PvE but its a vital part of the MMo for thousands of creep players

ahwell back to WAAAAAAAGH!!

Looking forward to this. Not really into endgame or PvM but I do like to tootle about doing quests and that. The main story is very nice.

well my order still isnt processed, damn slow jersey based company !!!! might cancel and go to the purple peeps

Got 3 lvl 50s, not looking forward to more deed grinding, but the things like leg. weapons and new trait sets are interesting (except for my guardian, who is being shafted).

The only problem i have with the game is the devs despise of end game content, there are currently 2 raid areas, the rift (12 man) and helegrod (24 man), the rift is way too easy and helegrod gear is pretty rubbish (and VERY similar to the PVP rank gear) and so motivating my kin to go is a challenge. Moria doesn't address my issues much at all, they have included a raid area, consisting of a watcher, and that's it. There is required gear to be able to do it (unless you can survive with 15 dread...) but they are acquired though 6 man instances.

This is a pet peeve, it's not a fault, as they have stated they are not into end game stuff. I personally like the graphics, PVE and community, which keeps me in the game.

Someone above mentioned their order not being processed, i best go check mine :S

*edit* ahhhh it's at the 'packing' stage :D

Cheers

Some similar concerns to those of our Kin that we were discussing last night.

Only problem with getting the game early is you cannot use it. They have put a note on the launcher stating that if you install and update with the MoM release prior to the 18th your game launcher will be rendered unusable until the 18th. So I haven't bothered pre-ordering and will just pick it up on the 18th.

LOTRO is the only MMORPG where I reached the level cap and that was 6 months ago. It is all about the journey for me and I have no interest in end game so that why I quit the day I capped.

Because it has been a while since I played so I have no desire to continue with my level 50 minstrel. There is not much incentive to roll a new character due to the world being rather small and having seen and done it all before. Correct me if I am wrong but Mines of Moira does not introduce any new low level or starter zones. Even though I do not play these games EQ2 always introduces new lower level zones with every expansion and some games like Vanguard are so damn huge there is no lack of low end content.

I wish this was not the case because I do miss playing a MMO and the recent AOC and WAR are not my preferred PvE type of game.

That's my problem with the game too - easily the most polished and enjoyable mmo out there, but I've pretty much seen and done it all at this stage, and they're way too slow in adding new areas and expanding the gameworld south and east.

Moria is huge, just getting there will take a while as you doddle along doing quest hubs and grinding deeds, back and forth to crafting guilds etc...

It.s 5,500,000 xp to level 60....that's double the xp it takes to get from 0-50

That's OK if you continue from level 50, but if you want to start a new character it provides nothing new. So it is lack of new playable areas that will keep me from picking up the game again. It is really frustrating because it is the PvE game I have enjoyed most and there is zero zip on the horizon.

My CE Edition turned up a few days ago. Its all loaded and ready to go when I get home from work. Going to try a Warden.

To be fair Turbine are very good at adding free, extra content. With any MMO it takes 2-3 years until the content is at a good level. I remember a friend of mine getting to 50 in a very short space of time in WoW and feeling the same.

Mines looks huge though for anyone around the 50 mark.

I managed all of 5mins before going to work this morning on it - just enough time to get my Runekeeper!

I installed and patched last night and when the servers went live at 8am this morning there was another smallish patch and updates - took about 30 mins in total altho some of my kin members are reporting longer times.

Blocky graphics...

This is one of the most beautyfull MMO out there. On high settings of course.

I don't think I'll test Mines of the Moria, I gave up on LOTRO a long time ago and I wasn't even that high level, around 25 I think.

Too many games to play these days :(

Aye same here. Had the update going just before 8am.

Not sure what race for Warden yet. I'm not one of those who is worried about the racial abilities and have never had an Elf so may go Elf. I reckon Elf Wardens may be under-played as well and I like to be a bit different.

not too sure what class to roll myself, but im leaning more towards the 'Warden' as they sound like they could be a good solo class for the moors
