**Official MikroTik Hardware **

Tried to connect using MAC address and that's worked and opened a new interface. Can't seem to see anything that mentions the other unit by MAC address or IP. What should I be looking for?

Nothing. I think you're at the point where you will need to do a factory reset (just the quick one - hold the button down until the light flashes then let go). Both ends.

When I did the Mikrotik Wireless certification the trainer said the only thing you could do wrong with the configuration was try to change it.

OK thanks. I tried this earlier but the button inside is like a slit rather than a recessed button if you know what I mean? I gave up because I couldn't do it easily, and I thought it was a shot to nothing anyway as I've changed no settings.

Any hints? I've just tried sticking a sim ejector tool in there again and no joy, it's really odd.

On all the wAP models I've seen you remove the bottom cover then the reset switch is a round hole next to the ethernet jack.

OK managed to get the bit inside to depress, but it is not clear at all when the light starts blinking. It already blinks very occasionally as normal, and even holding for about 6 seconds I didn't really detect a marked change in the pattern. And I'm reluctant to hold it for too long as it says if you hold it until it turns solid - again it's sort of solid normally! - then it clears all configuration and defaults. No thanks. Starting to regret not just burying cable...

Ah thanks, I missed that part. Not able to do that by myself due to power and unit not being in proximity so will try later on. It does seem like there must be some other issue at play but I can't think of anything else. Need to spend some time away from the computer I think. Thanks for your help.

OK I've now tried accessing the other WW via winbox but it says wrong password even though I've definitely entered it right. It's the same password as the other unit, and I had no problems with that one. Have literally gone between networks (now to winbox going on laptop) and left the details in. Should it be a different password? But there's no way to change it presumably without logging in?

These are preset units and should not need resetting as you know, if you did happen to long press the button it would reset the config leaving the unit with no default config.
login using admin with no password.
If I had to guess, you have one unit as was bought-and the other reset somehow!

Release the button when green LED starts flashing, to reset RouterOS configuration to defaults.
Release the button when the LED turns solid green to clear all configuration and defaults.

If I want to connect these together do I really need to buy a £30 Cable?

I only need 500mm IE both Items will be together.

General consensus on this kit?

The L009 ticks all the boxes for me on paper, decent price, 8 ports, solid hardware.....software apparently decent. My current router is pretty ancient now and I'm pretty sure is limiting the use of my gigabit line.

You don't need an SFP28 DAC when the devices on each end only run at 10Gb. Search for "SFP+ 0.5m DAC" and take your pick.

Seems a great little device depending on your needs, It's only 2.4g though!

You think £30 for a 10Gbps cable is expensive?! That’s a fantastic price.

So if I should feel the need to Flex then buy this......

Do I need it was the queston. I'm sure it is a good price!
Maybe I could use it at a later date for my upgrade to 25 or 100GB internet but I fear I'll be dead before I see or need those speeds, however 2.5GB for faster AP's in the near future makes more sense just to get what is needed.
