**Official MikroTik Hardware **

Yes it's a fantastic bit of kit for the price, 574Mbit/s on the WiFi6 2.4g, and if you don't need that buy the other one with No Wifi. Even better.... just plug in your new cAP ax or whatever you have. I have the ax2 and Cap ax, very capable bits of kit.

Do I need it was the queston. I'm sure it is a good price!
Maybe I could use it at a later date for my upgrade to 25 or 100GB internet but I fear I'll be dead before I see or need those speeds, however 2.5GB for faster AP's in the near future makes more sense just to get what is needed.
I must say I'm tempted to grab a CRS310-8G+2S+IN, I'd be inclined to go with the DAC but would just go for a generic SFP+ DAC. I work with both Cisco and Aruba switches, most of the SFP's I have tested in my RB5009 are recognised

I'm very interested and it would finish my build off nicely. Here is the nub of it, now people are asking for an External PoE version which would suit me better for my loft.
I still have about 6 months to decide. I guess it would push the price up another £100/£150 though.

Aye I'd want PoE myself tbh, too much faff with injectors

Tested an Aruba 50gb SFP56 DAC today detected correctly in the RB5009, negotiated at 10gb

Router has been sat on 5500 Ceee for the longest time now on Auto frequency which when restarted landed back on 5500Ceee everytime.
So today I thought ahh I'll set the frequency Manual seeing as it likes 5500 so much... well a few hours later the router has a wobble and does this..
18:02:28 wireless,info wifi1: radar detected on 5514
hmm, so I've set first 5500-5560 second 5745-5805 to see what that does, I can't believe the DFS just dumps you on some random channel as far away as possible ontop of your own network, bonkers just bonkers, so the question is why does it not do the same thing while set to Auto!

"The list of changes might be overwhelming, but some of them are more important than others in our opinion. The "!)" are emphasized changes."

When it’s on AUTO and detects radar it knocks the signal off for 60 seconds and moves you to a random non-DFS channel and leaves it there. It’s a legal requirement. There is no way around it.

When you see it always start on 5500 in AUTO that’s just the start point for the CAC routine that makes sure there is no radar detected but it can put you on other bands as well, something like InSSIDer will show you in real-time (or playback) what was happening on the various channels.

Unless you have real issues with non-DFS channels I would strongly suggest coming back down out of the DFS channel bands because there is a LOT of radar in the UK and it’s only getting worse. Definitely stay out of the 5600-5650 band where the weather radar is because every tiny airport and glider club seems to have weather radar these days and if you live near the coast it’s even worse.

Thanks great info.

I have my cAP ax on 5180-5240 Ceee (No DFS) which it set manual and is fixed to my loft ceiling so I'm trying to stay away from the rest of the lower frequencys to give the neighbours a chance. ie 5260-5320. So I also need the extra power 1W to push out to my Garden from my hAP ax downstairs Using the DFS portion 5500-5560. I am hoping now by setting the Extra frequency 5745-5805 (SRD Device) none DFS (Low Power) it will go to that channel instead. I can't tell you what a mess it caused us last night when I put it back to 5500-5560 all my clients on both AP's just lost the plot and nothing would connect to the problem AP.
Anyway!

Do you know if 5745-5865 is 25mw or 200mw from 5745-5825 and 25mw 5845-5865. when I read the manual, cough.. when I tried to read the regs, it showed 25mw for the whole band. It's one of them not sure things I need to clear up in my head. But reading isn't my strong point. If I recall I was getting a power level of 9 so 9+4.5 gain=13.5 25mw. The sums 25mw=13.9794000867 so that would say 25mw for that band. But Mikrotik keep changing stuff.....

I did use inSSider around version 2 and took a little look at the later versions but didn't like it so I didn't see the possibilities. For a quick look now I just use Acrylic.
The tools Built into Microtik also give a great awareness from the router perspective which I found very useful when choosing frequencys.

It did do what I asked it to do.

Code:
16:26:11 wireless,info wifi1: radar detected on 5514

 interface/wifiwave2/monitor 0
;;; changed intended channel to 5805/ax/eeeC
               state: running
             channel: 5805/ax/eeeC
    registered-peers: 4
    authorized-peers: 4
            tx-power: 9
  available-channels: 5500/ax/Ceee,5520/ax/eCee,5540/ax/eeCe,5560/ax/eeeC,5745/ax/Ceee,5765/ax/eCee,
                      5785/ax/eeCe,5805/ax/eeeC

I guess the tx-power answers that question then.
