Last years winner was Jay Cutler who absolutely trounced the competition, finishing 31 points ahead on the scorecards. Second was Branch Warren who surprised everyone. Branches success was probably due to Jays condition and size as Branch is the other mass monster of the bunch so looks good stood next to Jay. Third was the previous winner Dexter Jackson.

This year however it could all be different. Jay is going to have to bring at least the same level of conditioning he had last year to even stand a chance of retaining the Sandow trophy. The champ is always the favourite to win if they turn up 100%. But this year has seen the other big names improve dramatically

The year started with the Arnold Classic, and Kai retaining his trophy

The top 3 consisted of Kai, Phil Heath and Branch Warren. Forgetting Branch for a second as I don't see him as a serious competitor this year, Kai and Phil have come on leaps and bounds since last year. Phil finished 5th at the 09 Olympia despite being sick for the entire weekend which is impressive. I honestly think this years Mr. O is between these two

I'm personally routing for Phil as he just looks so impressive. Sure he's not as big as some of the other guys, but to me he's what bodybuilding should be all about. Aesthetics before size. And no one looks better than him. It's just a question of what the judges want from the competitors this year

Kai needs to improve lots since the Arnold, IMO he shouldn't have won that.

I hope Dexter Jackson wins it this year.

Yeah Phil was ahead of Kai and should have stayed there. No idea how Kai won that one

Really? Why Dexter? He does always nail it conditioning wise but I just think he looks very plain, almost too perfect, if that makes sense?

I think that's why I want him to win. Perfect is how this should be.

Jay brought it to the stage last year and rightfully won. He is looking awesome this year also!

Yeah he was supposed to be, not sure why he's not attending now.

Oh, im sure Roelly had some impressive finishes last year, possibly as an amateur. Expect a good showing :)

I think Ronnie says that every year that he's coming back, just to keep his sponsorship with BSN sweet. It's a shame, I'd love to see it, but the same time, he wouldn't win and probably finish quite low so it might tarnish his legacy

There's always threads for this and Arnold classic. This one will be nice and busy though as the op has made a good opening post :D

I'm really looking forward to it this year

For anyone who listens to podcasts or just wants to listen to the build up

Pro Bodybuilding Weekly have their third part of their Olympia buildup released today. The other parts can be found on the website, Part One had an interview with Kai Greene, Two was with Phil Heath and this week it is with Joe Wieder, so should be a good listen

Wouldn't want Ronnie to come back tbh, he's left the game as a legend. And always will be. If he came back I'd agree no doubt tarnish his legacy with a lower placing.

Jay is looking incredible as usual, he brings the full package home thats the key... Theres some bodybuilders who have the mass but not so much conditioning, some have amazing symetry and conditioning but lack the mass. But imo Jay packs the punch with the full package of all, he works hard for it and deserves it.

Personally I'd like to see Victor placing well, alough I don't see him winning I'd like to see him get a good place as always been a fan of him and his training, he has really exceptional training videos imo too.

Kai IMO is Jay's biggest rival, Kai simply has packed more and more mass on ridiculously, sitting at almost 300lbs. Hes a monster simply put it, alough I personally think his stomach is getting out of hand, and I know that the competitions are trying to clamp right down on this problem so not sure if he will get marked down, but the guys a freak and will do well none the less.

Dexter Jackson no doubt has the most "pleasing" aesthetics out of them all, always been a fan of his shape, very well developed and put together.... Phil heath though imo will do very well, hes brought a lot more to the table this year then he ever has imo.

Personally I think:

1) Jay Cutler
2) Kai Greene
3) Phil Heath

I just can't see Jay retaining this year. He set the bar so high last year. If he doesn't better that he's already at a disadvantage as the Judges will remember his physique.

I just can't see anyone beating Phil

Just look at him here

Arnold 2010 Prejudging

Finals

How he didn't win that is just beyond me? And it worries me as it shows the Judges are clearly still in favour of mass. But Phil has had a few months to put some more weight on and while it still won't be near Kai, I'm convinced it will be enough to take this years Sandow

Prejudging replays are up

The main 5 , Phil, Jay, Dexter, Kai and Branch all look fantastic. Although Kai really isn't looking 100%, his sheer size is making him impressive. Personally, I think Phil and Dexter have the best conditioning, they just look shredded. But Jay certainly hasn't bought any less than last year so a 4th Sandow is possible

My top 5 so far

1. Phil Heath
2. Jay Cutler
3. Dexter Jackson
4. Kai Greene
5. Victor Martinez

The problem, as always, the scoring never reflects what everyone else sees.
Jay will bring it in the final, branch always looks great (last year was rare recognition) and Heath deserves more than he gets.

Kai needs to learn to smile like Dexter.

Oh, my money is on Dexter, just have a feeling that jay might pull it again though.
Silly judges won't put Heath in top 3 IMO.

just watching the bikini replay.... mmmmmmmm :D

roelly is looking great for a rookie! conditioning needs to be a touch better, but my god hes gonna be good over next few years :D
