*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

Well, seems with the WiiU on the middle floor of the house, I can happily play upstairs and downstairs. Add to which, Lovefilm just sent me BLOPS2, ZombiU and Epic Mickey 2, so a great weekend ahead !

ah crap sonic transformed does not allow sound thru the pad unless you're playing on the pad.......looks like I have to get an expensive hdmi converter.

there we go I've paid £46 for Cablesson HDelity HDMI Audio Extractor on ebay. Lets hope this works as the picture and gameplay and everything is perfect over hdmi, just couldnt get sound out of the pad at all times.

So, I didn't make the midnight launch and then today I had work and then straight to the gym until 9. Mrs went to pick it up for me today instead, got it home - tried to turn on, flashing blue lights no hdmi output at all. Turns out I have a dud. Bit gutted, but it happens, was looking forward to playing all manner of games and drawing stupid pictures.

Will be waiting outside Game for opening :)

Well mine powered on fine, updated fine (took around an hour) and I can play with the menus fine. Then I popped in my copy of New Super Mario Bros U and after the initial loading screen I got a black screen. It stayed there for a few minutes and the power button on the console didn't do anything so I had to yank the power. Tried again and got exactly the same thing. Awesome. Trying my copy of ZombiU now.

Edit: ZombiU seemed to play ok but I still think my console is knackered. Twice I've had it lock up when trying to enter the system settings menu and it also locked up when I chose the exit software option on the pad. If my console isn't knackered then this really is the buggiest console I've ever used.

I've put a few hours into ZombiU now and I really don't understand how this game got mediocre reviews as personally I think it's a very good survival horror game.

It is currently sitting on 74% at Metacritic so hardly mediocre:) It has really been dragged down by a couple of ridiculous reviews such as Gamespot's 45%.

The sites I tend to look at for reviews, such as Eurogamer (9/10), Edge (7/10), Giant Bomb (8/10), and Polygon (8/10). Most of the reviews are 70%, only a handful of exceptions.

I'm looking forward to trying it out in a bit after my wii u updates:)

is there a guide anywhere which is step by step im trying all sorts with virgins so called superfail sorry hub.

Same. I can connect to the network but not the internet. I have tried Google's and openDNS's server but no luck!

Try this, see if it helps.

I didn't say that it had a medicore Metacritic score :p I said I can't really understand why there are mediocre reviews. Lots of well known sites gave it scores in the 4 - 6 out of 10 range. The only reasons I can think of is the melee combat is a bit meh and maybe they just aren't fans of the genre. I even said at the end "it's a really good game, don't get put off by the mediocre reviews".

First thing I tried was that.

I've bodged it now anyway by turning a laptop into a hotspot and connecting into that. Mega slow though, the download has been going on now for over an hour and it's only on 20%.

after all the faffing around i was doing with the superhub i decided to just put it in modem mode and find my belkin n1 out that i used to use and its working a charm.

i know its not really the best solution but hopefully i will have no more problems with other devices psp,s 3ds etc.

should have done this hours ago doh :(

Really disappointed in the range of the pad in my flat. I can barely make it out of the room into the corridor and it starts to stutter before the error message appears. I've moved the console onto my desk in the clear and its only got a tiny bit better. :(

That's odd, what sort of walls do you have? I can use mine upstairs in my bedroom (Wii u in living room downstairs) about 16-17ft away with only an occasional stutter. I was mega impressed with it

Please let us know how you get on with it.

Big old thick Victorian ones lol. Still expected it to get further than it does. I will have to check that nothing is interfering with the signal tomorrow when I can be bothered to investigate a bit more.

played a good section of ZombiU now...its totally sucking me in right now...really atmospheric and I feel the need to take my time.

Fifa Demo was downloaded and boy was it a stuttering mess, I hope its not like that in retail, although I won't be buying it!

Same with me but that's to be expected in my house. I have to hard wire 2 access points in my 2 bedroom house to get a decent wireless signal. So I wasn't expecting my pad to go far.

I grabbed Trine 2 after reading the IGN 9/10 review
It really is a little beauty for £10.99 from the e shop.
Had a few niggly problems with my pro controller going haywire during black ops2 ...any else had the same problem?
