Well, as you might know I'm a big fan and good friends with Noctua. The new NH-D14 was announced last week and the first review of this menacing cooler is now online:

No doubt there will be a lot of discussion on this cooler as the previous coolers such as the NH-U12P have been a massive success and very popular with overclockers/enthusiasts so this thread will be a good place to start any discussions or ask any questions.

Nice review there. Temperatures were impressive. I may well be looking at a new cooler to replace my NH-U12F, and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else but to Noctua. This, however would be overkill for my setup, and the size (that protruding middle fan) could be an issue as you pointed out.

Yes it is. The cooler has done me proud since I got it, very, very quiet for the performance it offers. I have a choice to make in clocking my quad though - either get a case with a bit better airflow or a cooler that will perform better in warmer air. I have a few things to try out before then, but my aim is for the rig to be as quiet as possible. Noctua is certainly the way to go for that in my opinion.

Sad to see both the TRUE and the megalahems absent from the results table, I will wait for a comparison against these two before making up my mind on this one.

Thanks for the thread.

Really nice looking cooler. Would have been nice to see it up against some of the more high end coolers, and it's price will certainly not be cheap. Not much doubt in my mind it will lead the performance/silence scales.

I'll get a prolimatech Megahalem and add it to the results for you guys.

I was trying to find the quote for that
I'm gonna try and get a Prolimatech Megahalem this week for comparison.
, read the review again and couldn't find it anywhere, thought i was going mad, realised it was in the other thread but now you beat me to it :p

Great review, lovely looking bit of kit, would be worried it might fall off or warp my mobo with it being over 1kg but the secufirm2 seems very...well....secure. I think my holding off buying a cooler for my i5 750 until the premium coolers have compatability with 1156 has finally come to an end. Just need to see the price now, im assuming £65-£70 going off the exchange rates.

The trouble with Prolimatech is that they are really hard to get in touch with. Looking forward to seeing the Mega vs the D14. I've a feeling the D14 will come out as winner!

I'm interested in seeing it tested with just the middle fan in, my ram has tall heatsinks that would otherwise hit it. I know you can more the fan up but would just like to know anyway.

Wonder if the 120mm can be added at the back in the pull position as instead. Would provide better temperatures than just the middle alone and wouldn't interfere with RAM heatsinks.
