I didnt see any dedicated thread for this device, so I thought I would start one :)

Mine is en-route and should be arriving in the morning, but I am unfortunatley not back in the country till tuesday PM.

Happily, I was lucky enough to have had my hands on the device even before the launch, and really enjoyed the way it worked.

Ordered it sim free in black. Will get some pics up when i can get it.

Anyone else trying the edge?

Yup, will order the official case when I can, I have some colleagues heading over to HQ in the next couple of weeks, they can grab me one from the Shop in on site for a decent price. Failing that, I will get it through someone in the UK team :)
 
Seems I was a little premature with my delivery estimates!
I am sure the said on the phone it would be delivered on the Monday this week, but I think from what I have heard, the 12th is the most likely delivery date for these early orders.
Not too long to wait :)
 
Its a high end device, which is proving much harder to manufacture. I have heard rumours internally that it can take over twice as long to physically produce the parts and stick it all together. So the price is not really surprising. If anything it is cheaper than expected.

My feeling is that this is really a testbed for an "edge" mainstream product in 4-5 months time.
 
It's brilliant!
The way you can customise the home screen with folders and have all the quick access options in the edge means I can keep it looking neat without having to resort to multiple pages on the home screen.

It also looks awesome!

Interesting, It seems to work on mine, but lack of network data or wifi means I cannot actually log in at the moment to check 100%

Will take a look later.
My battery is on 64% so far today. Been using it a usual amount, so pretty happy with that for now :)
 
Quick update on battery.
I took it off charge this morning at 7:30am, and it is now sat at 70% charge.

I am very happy with that. Its getting a fair bit of use too, everyone who notices it is asking me for a go.

The girls in the office really seem to really like it?!
 
I have an un-offical flip case as I was fed up of waiting for the official one to hit the stores in the UK.
Its looks to be completely identical to the official one, apart from the logos.
Best thing? The price - £3.49.
Looks like the company that make the official one are pumping them out without a logo, far more cheaply :p

Ahaha, so one of the guys in the mobile team at work dropped an official case on my desk yesterday.
I take it all back, the official case is much nicer. The finish is much more sleek, the hinge works better, and the phone's edge now responds to the closing, and displays clocks/notifications and powers off the main screen.

Its significantly better, but probably still not worth the full price tag, so getting one gratis is even better :D

The official flip case is a must though now I have been using it for a while.
Would get black if I had the choice, seeing as my edge is not the white version. Still, seeing as it was free, I will not complain :D
Its not scratched at all, even on the edge, and I am just lobbing it in my pocket in my jacket.

As above, it will pick up on the dev side.. At work there are rumours of the S6 having a dual-edge companion (like the note 4/note edge combo)

I have an app that runs a thermometer up the edge, which I really like at the moment :)

Just checked on my sim-free handset (I checked yesterday, and had nothing) and it is now saying "network error" when I check!! Grrr

I will keep checking till I get a proper response. It was imminent I was told from people at work!

I already have it on my work S4, and it seems to be working well on there :)

*Bah, nothing for me.
