** Official OcUK RIFT Guild **

Did you play Aion at launch? They had one starting area for each race and there were MASSIVE queues and when you did get in there were far too many people around to do any quests. It took me about 4 days to get to a level that most of my guild had got to within the first hour or two.

So by giving people with better connections the advantage you are allowing them to avoid the massive queues and be able to clear the starting areas long before everybody else. So although it may not seem like that much it could give them a 3-4 day advantage over those with poorer connections, which is quite unfair.

But then Aion did let us predownload, so I don't get your point? Yes there is always an initial rush in these games, but everyone experiences it, at the end of the day it's the people with the most time to invest who have the adv antage, not anything else.

Whats the PvP like in this, I've seen a few videos of the arena type battles but whats the world pvp like, is it just a gank fest?

I haven't played an mmo in ages and have completely ignored this while its being developed, so I'm just learning about it now. It looks like it could be fun but i think the pvp will be the clincher for me.

I'm quite keen to join if you'll have me?
It's my first time properly playing an MMO really. I played WoW for about a month a few years back but my uni servers didn't allow access to it and since I was living in halls I couldn't really get into it.
Anyway, I've played the open Beta a bit to see what it was like, toyed with a few different races/classes to see where I want to start and now I've pre-ordered it. Looking forward to getting started as a Kelari Marksman! What races/classes are others planning on using?
Need to decide on a Character name and then I'll sign up.

Gone for one of the little clip-on mics.
Already have a decent pair of AKG headphones so don't want to buy a proper headset. I'm just not keen on wearing headphones when I'm in the house/my uni room.
