I thought i'd create a thread for reviews for p45 boards (not reviews of sample boards though).
I havent actually seen any reviews that are of the final retail boards, only ones of the sample boards that were sent out 3-8 weeks ago to reviewers.
Info about P45 Chipset:
* P45 is the new P35 board aimed at enthusiasts, X48 is the more deluxe version aimed at gamers who want dual or 3-way X16 PCI-E 2.0 for crossfire.
* Uses a 65nm northbridge chip, X48, X38 and P35 uses a 90nm chip so this uses less power.
* Has ICHR10. The P35 and X38 and X48 have ICHR9
* Has PCI-E 2.0 like the X48 and X38. The P35 have PCI-E 1.1. PCI-E 2.0 has double the bandwidth of v1.1 and allows the board to provide more power so graphics cards may not need 6pin and 4pin additional power connectors. PCI-E 2.0 also gives approx 3-4% improvement in games as found in a review by anandtech of PCI-E 2.0 technology.
* Supports 45nm (Penryn) cpu's out of the box, both quad core and dual core.
REVIEWS:
Please reply with links for reviews of retail boards and i shall add them to this first post. If you have any important info to go in the info section i will add that too.
