This fantastic game is out in the UK today, got my copy earlier anyone else played it yet? Been through the demo many times and its an excellent game worthy of the praise its been getting from many review sites.

For those who dont know Patapon is a PSP game that combines the genres of RPG,RTS and rhythm action games. You control a tribe called the patapons by using drums to beat out phrases to the beat to make them advance defend attack etc. You can aquire weapons from defeating enemies, gather resources to gain rare materials to create better troops, upgrade and equip each one etc, just like an RPG (simple one). There is also planing involved in which troops to take in battle, the position in you line up, which weapons are going to be most effect and also the boss battles may take a bit of planning to know best tactics to win.

There is no pause while in the battle as the developers think it wouldnt work as rhythm is so important and you would lose the feel off the game. But you can quit back to base while in a mission if you want.

Anyway the US release is next week so maybe a few more will have it then, but its well worth a purchase.
I got a few tips if anyone needs them but wont post unless asked as it may spoil things a bit.

Been playing this during my work commute for the past few weeks and really enjoying it. I got stuck for a little while, not knowing what to do to cross the desert, but eventually cracked it and have finished off the 4th boss.

Loving the little horse-riders, was a fresh change to my line-up but it's a shame I can't use all my Patapons at the same time anymore.

At first it was hard keeping them in fever mode but it's much easier now and really satisfying when you take down a boss or difficult level by doing the whole thing in a fever.

Love the aspect of upgrading equipment / weapons and fnially found a decent supply of rocks to make new Patapons.

Overall loving it and it's even torn me away from Jeanne'de'Arc to some extent. Another great title and imo a must-own for the PSP. (Be careful on the train though, you can get a bit engrossed not wanting to break a fever and miss your stop if you're not careful!)
