**Official Portal 2 thread**

Stuck at what I can only describe as a blue bridge in chapter 3. Probably something really simple too.

Never played Portal until today. Got it with the Orange Box but never bothered playing it for reasons I cannot quite remember now. With al the Portal 2 hype flying about I decided to give it a whirl. Didn't think much of it the first few chambers. By chamber 5 I was liking it. By chamber 8 I was hooked. Onto chamber 19 now and it's a brain teaser. So far I've refrained from checking youtube for help as I'm enjoying it too much to spoil it for myself. Anyway, should finish it tonight and start playing Portal 2 tomorrow. Yes, it's bought and downloading as I type this :)

Hang on...

I've just been told that if I bought this on XBox, I would have got it for free on Steam too.

Am I some sort of mug? So they all get a PC copy for free but I only get a PC copy? WTF is that about?

I wasn't happy stephen merchant was voicing wheatley, but having played for a few hours, I can say that he does play it well and what I thought was going to be an irritance (his voice) is actually quite funny.

Thats the PS3 version. Each copy comes with a code to redeem on Steam on the PC. So you can play co-op cross-platform between the PS3 and PC version as well.

I enjoyed the game however I feel it was to easy and left more to be desired. The length of the single player dissapointed me and I felt it was lacking a proper story.

I dont feel I can justify spending £30 on a game thats only a few hours long!

Will probably have to wait for a reduced price before I pick it up, even tho Im sure its great game!

Think I'm near the end, Enjoying this so much :D

Going to watch the footie now :p Will finish it after, I got it for £27 on Steam and that included the original Portal, so I'll give that to a friend or give it away.

Just finished Chamber 18, starting to get more difficult now, that was a fun one. I'm not interested in seeing how quickly I can complete it like some of the people here. I've been waiting ages for this, I like to take my time in each of the chambers.

took me about 9 hours and i haven't even started on the co-op yet.

That's good news, I've only been playing a couple of hours.

guys, if you can don't use tutorials, walkthroughs. It will just click eventually i promise. It is so much more gratifiying knowing you passed a chamber on your own.

Im not the best at puzzle games but i managed it!

There's no way I'm going to use a tutorial or walkthrough. Didn't on the first game or the advanced chambers, and I won't on this. Patience is the key to getting the harder ones.

Indeed. I haven't completed it yet, got stuck 2 or 3 times and giving it a break then coming back to it with a fresh mind helped every time.

Easily game of the year I think :D

Well that was fun, really enjoyed it. Think it took me about 6-7hours to finish the single player (my steam stats messed up and is showing 2.7hours). Wouldn't have wanted the single player to go any further than it did as I felt it was the right length for the story. Personally didn't find it too hard sadly, only 2 or 3 puzzles had me stumped for more than a few minutes, though there were a few bad cases of 'find the surface I can portal to', to continue on with the game.

Shame there isn't any single player challenge levels, though I guess the coop will fill that hole.
