This one seems to have slipped past most people's radars and is surprisingly lacking in hype. Seeing as it's out today and there isn't already a dedicated thread I thought this would be as a good a place as any to concentrate any discussions.

Sales pitch:

Review snippet:
Note that I say 'usually'. For while I can't quite believe that I'm about to say it, I have to say that - at last - one company appears to have managed to do the impossible. To say that this game is or isn't better than GoldenEye would be disingenuous - GoldenEye is a game more than ten years old on a console generations behind current technology. Comparing Quantum Of Solace and GoldenEye like for like now would just be foolish. However, what I feel that I can say is that if the talented team of game developers who wowed gamers so long ago with that particular N64 title, set to work to produce it again now with current generation technology, then Quantum Of Solace would be the game that they would create. Or to put it another way: this is GoldenEye for a new generation. And praise doesn't come much higher than that.

I've only found that one proper review so far and I don't want to spoil the movie for myself so I think I'll wait to see how well it's received before I spend the cash, but for the reviewer to say this actually compares to Golden Eye has me hugely excited. If the other reviews echo this then it's a must purchase for anyone who has fond memories of Golden Eye.

can't wait for this, i pre ordered from g***st***** cos they were the only ones selling the collectors edition, it's the first and last time i'll be getting anything from there, as its not shown up today, will most likely get it tomoz tho.
 
wow, trailer looks good. I have a fondness for bond games even though they are a bit meh. Missed all that goldeneye rogue agent games. Bargain bit purchase probably

all this is , is brand over content. game is very poor. its demographic seems to be aimed at the young mentally deformed vision impaired and housebound .
 
its inherintly good because its based on the CoD4 engine, but theyve made a bit of a pigs ear of it. will probably pick it up after ive seen the movie and its a bit cheaper.
 
Hmm, I don't hold much faith in IGN reviews. I know the pc demo was poor but I don't want to judge the console version on the PC versions failings.
 
I picked this up today and its excellent I thought, combines R6 vegas covering with CoD4 engine. Really liking it but don't want to keep playing it as it might spoil the film. Multiplayer is the same as CoD4 in regard to having perks and that. Although you buy them rather than level up.

LOL!

I still play my N64 (Have the newgen consules but the 64 is ace) and Goldeneye imo still craps all over this. The trailer on the first post may look alright for graphics but goldeneye when moving around the screen with a gun looks better imo.

Besides, took me friggen ages to complete Goldeneye on all 4 settings (yes theres a hidden setting if you complete 00 Agent).
