I beat the last boss yesterday, going to start on the final ending today.
Started off and wasn’t sure I’d stick with it, but after beating the first boss I couldn’t put it down.

How open are the areas? Is it a mix of linear and open world? Or similar to Outriders?

Once you beat the boss of an area the next one opens.
When you respawn the area is open and you don’t have to fight the boss again.
You can’t move back to a previous area until you respawn. (Or not that I’ve found so far)

I wouldn’t run straight to bosses, get as much as you can from the area/s you can access before you fight them.

best tips I can give

Unlock weapon skills, guns can have up to 3 once you’ve unlocked them.

Collecting Silphium at full health, will help expand your health bar.

Most malfunctions aren’t too bad and are usually easy to clear (collect 1 artefact, kill 15 monsters, collect 150 obolites). With that in mind, open the tainted chests.

regarding obolites, destroy plants for extra and statues with gold eyes.

Use the reclaimer if you find one, it takes some health but you get a good item usually.

Also melee the teleporting tree monsters, much quicker and safer to take down with melee.

Just finished the true ending, awesome game, very confusing endings.

Grinding the last 4 trophies currently, finding all the red marks on the wall is a pain.

Platinum trophy obtained!

For anyone else looking to do this, Crimson Waste said 19/20 for ciphers when the trophy popped.

Biome 5 escalated just a tad. Feels like every gun I use is a peashooter.

Try to grab a Hallowseeker with Portal Gun. Melts everything.

I had a shotgun or something that shot a straight projectile but had shotgun like spread bullets as well, what was that? I love that one.

Was it leaving behind red pylons that electrocuted? Or just straight damage?

I don’t think a sequel was ever on the cards. Hopefully they’ll work on something new.

Remember you can dodge through any attacks that aren’t purple, so dodge towards the attack to clear it quicker.
