OK, very straight forward build.

Did USB flashback to latest 1001 bios before build started.

Currently running stock 34C idle. not stress tested it yet

Memory 1.35V 3200 CAS 16 1T. Can do better I am sure as I have Ripjaws 3200 CAS 14.

I booted into Win10 Pro from my previous FX9590 build so far no issues although I will prepare a fresh install. Windows has not yet been activated waiting for servers.

What's the point in not.... I certainly don't care if it clocks down...... We want to save afew pence... You guys all from up north too lol.

Glad for you!

Wonderful that people want different things and have a choice :)

Seems to be a proliferation of people lately who seem to have a problem with people doing things different to themselves...

Need a little help please with Pstates and Downclocking when idle if possible.

My settings currently:

39 Multiplier
Vcore 1.35 Offset 0.15

PState0 - Custom 3900
FID - 9C
DID - 8
VID - 3A

Will not downclock when idle. Any help appreciated.

I'm having the same issue.
When not overclocked it clocks down perfectly fine. Adding an overclock (just simply putting the cpu ratio from auto to 38, no other changes) stops it from down clocking.

It's likely because auto voltage is switching off when you overclock.

This system makes multitasking an absolute joy :)

Not sure what games to try though.

Have had a little bit of bf4... Thinking maybe crysis 3...

I need some advice. I currently have a i7 4790k OC to 4.6ghz with 16gb DDR3. I want to upgrade my GPU to a GTX 1080 Ti next month, my question is would it be beneficial to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 with DDR4 rather than keep my 4790k with a GTX 1080 TI?

Keep the 4790K @ 4.6. No need to upgrade platform from that for gaming.

I would say it depends on what you are doing with system.

For gaming only, keep what you have.

Thanks for the reply. Even after doing that it's still running full pelt 3.9g when idle.

I'll share my bios settings, perhaps something that is differing to mine.

CPU: R7 1700
MOBO: C6H
FW: 0902

1. Main bios screen (just for info)
2. Extreme Tweaker top
3. Extreme Tweaker lower
4. Digi+ (only change from defaults is disable VRM spread spectrum)
5. AMD CBS (Global C-State Control = Enabled)
6. AMD CBS PState 0 setup for 3.8GHz

Y-Cruncher beginning test screenie.
Failed at ~2.5hrs so upping VCORE and testing again.
