*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

The 2nd one there's £35.86... The first one I've never heard of or used... are they reliable??

Ah, so it is. Bloomin' google shopping search for you.

I also suspect they don't have a release date set yet:

Store x 2 said:

Hahaha.

somebody has a very good sense of humour :D:D

According to this which is supposedly from a French store, a standard edition is going to be 61.99(~£55) and a collectors edition is 174.99(~£154) If that is true, I don't think I'll be getting the game at all.

EDIT: Pre-orders expected to start tomorrow.

well looking at that date, its saying 27 October 2011, not sure though a day before Battlefield 3 :confused:

One thing I've noticed from the back of the Pre-order box is it shows the min spec details, but one reads:

Hard Drive: 8x DVD-ROM or better

I can appreciate it needs to install from a DVD-ROM but, not class it as a HDD. :D

I'd have thought amount of disk space required would be there.

Typo or fake-o? (yeah I'm throwing out a conspiracy theory :P )

The game is still in development, I suspect they are still waiting for everything to be finished and put in the game before they say how much space you need.

http://www.swtor.com/preorder Pre-orders have started, however with so little information being released I am going to wait.

Due to high demand and limited quantities of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™,
the pre-order process will be as follows:
1Complete the order form below.
2You will be sent an email confirming your pre-order request has been received.
3Pre-order requests will be processed in the order they are received, while quantities last.
4An email will be sent within 48 hours to let you know if your pre-order request was successful.

From the origin website, how the hell can you have limited amounts of DIGITAL items? Surely you can create never ending amounts?

Maybe its to control server loads for the game servers. If your game is only able to handle say 3000 people per server and you are launching with 50 servers then at max you can only handle 150,000 people online at once, sell 1.5m copies for release day and you'll end up with several hundred thousand people who cant log in. Restrict the number of people and it might make for a smoother launch, after all people are generally more willing to accept "its out of stock" than "I've got it but when I go to log in I am number 968 in the queue and have a wait time of 94mins before I can log in"
