Do you really think when Bioware, EA and Lucas Arts sat down all them years ago and within their business plan they said, lets create a Star Wars mmo, let’s spend millions of dollars over 5/6 years and then when it’s time to launch lets over charge people for the game because we know that’s the only way we going to make our money back! If that’s there thinking then they are bigger fools than they already are!!

At the end of the day its targets( EA Q3 profits are down, they admitted there is shortfall), numbers, and revenue, Making EA shareholders happy....

They know people are going to spend the money, so why not do it.

It was only CE one which is ridiculously overpriced, Amazon up until yesterday afternoon was still selling it for £34 quid which to me is a fair price for a game like this.

Captain can confirm this. I thought they said people playing beta would not be able to do any end game content. They have already spoken about end game raids (operations)

Come on, let’s just think about this for a second, do you really think come end of lvl cap, that there is not going to be anything to do?

I am gonna get the standard edition I think, cant wait to play a female sith with my pink saber and smash some people in PVP though its gonna be sick!

There was no endgame content in the beta or playtest. Like you say, they have already commented on the raids/operations - from the videos they look similar to the flashpoints you experience through the game. If so, the operations will be better than any raids from any other MMO.

The other problem at the moment is a lack of content for some higher levels to get to max level, but I am sure this will all be resolved soon.
 
I hope they do something like they did in Rift when it comes to subs. I thought the early bird(whatever it was called)was a great idea. They discounted your sub if you bought before a certain date. I think I paid £35 quid for 6 months, which works out about £5.80 a month, not bad for a months entertainment.
 
Just watched the Coruscant gameplay video from betacake and seriously those graphics looks sweet, well polished, and I like the atmosphere of that world, everything looks perfect to me. You know what it reminds me of aswell, it reminds me of how it looks in fifth element but I guess they also based it on those new star wars films aswell coz I think I remember seeing a city like that in those new films.

But I only watched new ones a couple of a times...all real star wars fans know those films arent proper star wars!!! the only star wars films that exist to me are the original three!!! :D
 
Arghhh

This is my first time pre-ordering a game and judging by the official forums I have fallen into the same trap/misunderstanding as a lot of people. I expected the charge on my card to be for the £5 with the remaining to come out on release of the game. However my card appears to have been charged for the full amount :(

Ive read up a bit and it seems when its all processed I will end up with the £5 being taken out of my account with the remaining balance placed in hold. This is just as bad as charging the full amount as I am not able to spend that cash. Normally this wouldnt be a problem but im going on hols tomorrow and need all my monies :mad:

Watched the video now, as I suspected it didnt do much for me, tiny little quake style arenas and people hitting each other 15 times with a lightsaber. Hopefully they will announce something more interesting in the open world PvP department, as the little arenas dont float my landspeeder :)
 
Are there shards in the game?

James Ohlen: We have the tech to do that but we will be using it very sparingly. On launch day we might have to use it in some capacity, once the pop normalizes though that is not something we plan to use.

I was under the impression that they had already confirmed there will be a monthly sub.

EDIT : ah wait, think I have misunderstood there, you mean whether its 30 free days rather than whether it will have a sub at all. My bad.
