You know, the BEST scene from the entire Trilogy is the very start of the 1st movie. When Blackout destroys that base it was simply amazing.
From then on, it just fell apart.
I've been a big fan of Transformers throughout the years, from the original TV series to the comics.
At first, i loved the 1st film because it was Transformers, then I seen the 2nd and I simply couldn't stand it. The CGI took a backwards step...it was probably better but maybe there was just so much more of it that it looked worse.
I then began to try and look at them as pure action flicks with giant Robots, ignoring that it was Transformers at all. In that light, they can pass as half decent films.
The 3rd was certainly an improvement on the 2nd in all aspects except the acting. I've seen some really bad acting in some B-Movies but that women who played Sams new love interest was about the worst i've ever seen in my life. I really struggled to watch her acting...
It again just shows how little Bay cares about the audience if he'll take one of the biggest budget films ever and throw in a lead actress who would be thrown out of a 1st school drama class for being so bad.
He gets away with it more in stand alone movies but for an already existing franchise with wuch a large fanbase, you really have to have more thought about the people paying to view your movie.
If you removed about 45 minutes from each of the 3 films then I think it'd make a pretty decent trilogy of sci-fi action films. As it stands, I find them very hard to stomach.
Oh and i seen it in 3D, despite all my rants against 3D movies (my partner really wanted to). And 3D detracted, not added to the film just as i expected. What an awful feature.
Everytime i think of the movies I go home and watch an episode of the cartoon to restore my faith!
