Thanks, I thought this may be the case. I might just go for it as I'll need to add an AP elsewhere at some point for full coverage.

Yeah, doing the same for my sister's house later in the year.

Putting a UDM in to start with and maybe a NanoHD on the upstairs landing, but I think the UDM should suffice for their house tbh.

Then adding either an AC-M or NanoHD in the garage later on when needed, as they want to convert it into a bar/pool room. This AP would also cover their garden too.

Setup my UDM today, extremely easy and was up and running in no time.

Minimal config was required, running dhcp and dns from a pi-hole so just used same wireless SSID and key as previous device and was done.

All working well, liking the controller stuff so will have fun playing with all that :)

Wireless performance from a first crude test is a little better than the smart hub 2, but to be honest I found the performance of the SH2 good and wasn’t swapping just for that.

Has anyone installed the new firmware that's been released? Switches from 4.3.13.11253 to 4.3.20.11298. APs from 4.3.13.11253 to 4.3.20.11298. Any issues?

Which version are you on and what are you trying to download?

5.12.66
I think there's two versions newer now but the CK hits timeout when searching for update via the app and just doesn't seem to check for new update when I tell it too via the web interface.

That’s not even remotely the latest stable version. 5.13.32 was released about 2 weeks ago, although to be honest very little has been altered recently. Even in the V6.0 beta it’s sadly much of the same prettified up.

Have you updated the firmware first?

I updated to it when it came out and only realised that I haven't been able to update to anything newer since.

The CK and all devices are on the latest firmware. CK: 1.1.13 and Switches/APs: 4.3.20

I'll run it the SSH way later.

Maybe famous last words, unplugged the device at the weekend to move the cables about, when powered back on it runs fine with internet, wireless etc, but I now can't login to the controller through the web gui.

Remote access is disabled, local logins had been working fine up until the power off/on.

CLI is working as I can SSH into the device, very frustrating!

Yup login page loads, I put my credentials in and click the login button, it has the dots that move about on the login button for a moment then just goes back to saying 'sign in'.

Credentials were fine before the power off as I'd been using them, plus same credentials had been working on the iOS app which now doesn't connect either.

Does it say that the username and password are incorrect or does the page appear as if you've just loaded it and haven't attempted to login? Does it error if you enter a known wrong username and password?

No errors on the page saying invalid logins, have tried rebooting and still no joy, very strange. May just have to find a time that's ok to just flatten it and start again, luckily theres minimal config on there, just annoying and not easy finding a time to take it all down!

ended up doing a factory rest and it fixed it, was a bit strange after as I'd originally setup on the non UnifiOS firmware 1.5.6 which I later upgraded to 1.7.2.

So resetting to factory on 1.7.2 some settings were no longer there or different.

Managed to update the controller software the other day via SSH. I think there was an update stuck there, wiped it from the dir and manually updated fine. The update checks via the app and webgui work again now.

Hi all, we have our options appointment on Friday for out new build and I am wondering about running wiring for APs (most rooms will also be hardwired).
I currently have a UDM and I am wondering if it would be sufficient to put that in the under stairs cupboard (where BT FTTP comes in) and a nanoHD on the landing ceiling.
As you can see the cupboard is fairly central but there will be 'stuff' in there. To be safe shall I also stick an AP on the hall ceiling?
