Snagged one! I've been waiting for it to come back in stock for ages to get shot of the useless zte mc888 that three business give you with their 5g broadband offering.
Very happy with the results currently. Have yet to mount it outside and may not even bother!

I made the mistake of moving away from ubiquiti. I currently have TP Link festa (router and APs) considering moving back to the ubiquiti world after discovering you cannot allocate IPs within the festa router on cabled clients!
Was looking at the CGU for the router and using the existing APs until I migrate fully over.
Seems well reviewed online what’s the consensus here?

Always fun when you end up having to use this:
It crapped itself when I deleted an inactive EE internet connection. All physical ports except the Aquiss WAN port went down but it was still responding to ICMP on the WAN interface.

Mrs has ring and is quite happy with it. I think if I ever needed to upgrade in the future I’ll just upgrade the unit. Shall keep that in mind but looks like I’ll purchase the CGU

Had the 5G Backup arrive this morning and its a bit disappointing.. 5-10mbps (prepaid EE uncapped 5G nano sim).. My Phone got 60-100mbps with the same SIM in the same elevated (loft) location.
I've just taken it around to a colleagues who has a Unifi Setup and he's in a good 5G coverage area and getting 50-60mbps which is plenty, so he's just bought it at cost and even took the EE Sim off me, so that's a result!
Shame, I've got a free uncapped EE 5G data sim from work which goes unusued, although I see the 5G Max Outdoor is still in stock.. hmmm.. I need to order a UTR for the upcoming holidays so my man maths says I'd reduce delivery costs if I ordered them together..

Mine has just arrived too, I'll chuck a Vodafone SIM in and see what throughput I can get.
Edit - I'm getting very similar speeds using the 5G Backup and my Vodafone 5G hotspot. They're terrible either way, but they're pretty much the same. I need to get hold of some SIMs from a different network and see what the results are. A job for this weekend.
There's pretty much no 5G here, you can just about get a signal but it's not usable.

The 5G Backup has no CA at all and terrible antenna's it in. Even if you hit theoretical max though put you are still only going to hit 180Mbps. Better of just sticking a NR5103 in bridge mode and whack it in your WAN2/failover and getting decent speeds with decent antenna's ~£80-90 at auction.
Of course, that’s absolutely fine and precisely why I bought one, a download of 30-80mbps is perfect for a backup, what I didn’t appreciate is that it’s all pro-rata at a rate of 1:10 of a normal 5G basic device like your phone, thus ending up with 5-10mbps in my case, far below their minimum stated speed and too low for the basic usage required in the house.
Not a big deal, and luckily cost me nothing.. When moved to a better signal area, the 50-60mbps was perfect, I’d have been over the moon, that’s more than I need.. That’s quite a gerneous ‘backup’ that most activities in the house could use without compromise.
The UCG-F arrived, very briefly staged and I installed it in the loft yesterday afternoon. Appreciating the simplicity.

Simplicity FTW in a home setup works for me. I did consider a separate management VLAN but decided I couldn't be bothered.
I had mine in a management VLAN and had no issues at all, but ultimately since I have multiple VLANs segregating various device types/classes, I just set all the unify stuff back on 'default' since nothing else has access to it..
This is what my head says but my past couple years tell me I "should" be using a MGMT vlan.
What a day! Turns out YouFibre fully support IPv6 on their network and UniFi absolutely eats it. Now running 4+6 dual stack throughout everything. Something I've shyed away from for so long due to MikroTik complexity I've done in about 3 clicks. What a world we live in....
