I really enjoyed the last issue.
Well worth picking it up.
Felt very sad after finishing reading it to be honest.
Wandys then-and-now section on tech was very good.
Lots on the history of Zone as well
I have every issue of it since april 1999 and a few randoms before that under my desk. My favourite games mag (really didnt like gamer - and I thought the advert for gamer within the last issue took the **** a bit).
Really enjoyed reading it, I didnt care if some of the news was a bit out of date. It was handy to read on the bus, train, toilet, holiday, at work etc etc. And I loved looking back over old issues to see whats changed and have a look at older favourite games. It wasnt as good after the take over but it was still the best pc games mag on the shelf and still had a twinkle of what it once was. Will miss it - FU pc gamer.

They had more credibility than pc gamer in my opinion, gamer's reviews for far cry 2 and empire total war were OTT.
However I usually picked up pc gamer because I found the writing style more "talky" and fun, pc gamer always had the better dvd, which was useful when I was only on 2mb broadband and took overnight to download mods.

Years Ago When the first Starcraft game came out I remember a Pc Mag ( could have been PC Zone or Pcgamer or maybe another one ) reviewed Starcraft and blasted it giving it a low score and saying it brought nothing to the RTS Genre. Now some months later they apologised and re reviewed it saying it was great !

I've been reading pc zone since issue one. Don't ever keep issues for long though.
I'm wondering if the qaulity of games will suffer now. Pc zone used to be pretty accurate in my view with their scores. Even if the did **** games companies off.

There was a stage in the 90's where they used to give pretty much every game at least 80%.
I haven't bought it in a long time..... I used to get it before broadband came around just for the 600mb of patches, demos and mod's you'd get with each issue.
