You still see the 'New Old World' same as everyone else with or without expansion, as the new world is coming via a patch (4.0.3a - estimated next week!) NOT via the expansion.

Expansion just adds 2 new races and totally new cata areas, as well as unlocking leveling to 85.

No, the shattering happens for everybody. Even a vanilla account will see all the new zones etc and be able to do all new quests up to lvl 60. TBC and Wrath accounts up to their level cap respectively.

cant wait just remember theres an achievement if you happen to get killed by Deathwing while he/she/it is bring down firey hell to the world.

Im not sure if this will be hard to get or will actually be given to everyone who logs in after the shattering patch.

Bit like that achieve for the rifts which became so easy during the city invasions that its almost impossible not to get it :)

unless you dont go to oggy or TB like ever ! :p I did it the hardcore way and camped them sites !

Must say looking forward to seeing good old Deathwing burnign the crap outta stuff

In order to get the achievement you have to be killed by him. Its not a launch thing, blizzard have said he will randomly pop up in zones and toast anything that gets in his way right up to the time he is killed, which is a good few patches away
 
So what's the score with flying now. Is it a new skill or if you could fly in Northrend can you now fly in the main areas? (post shattering, anyway)
 
with cata only 3 weeks away ive decided to level up my other chars rather than keep instancing on 80s, no point getting gear that will be crap in a few weeks, so git a 76 mage,76 war and possibly a 70 hunter to do to go with my 80 dk, rogue and pala.
 
I've been ignoring my lvl80 DK and bringing a mage up. Now at 51 but as I play infrequently I doubt I'll be at 60 when cata hits.

I think you need the following:

Journeyman = Outland
Cold Weather = Northrend
Artisan = Epic flying mounts
Master = kamlidor & eastern

Although this may be wrong as the requiremetns get more confusing with each expansion

Yep, he would have had the 310% one in his spellbook, "Flight Master's License" is what you need for flying in Azeroth.

Should cost 250g (assuming this blue post is still correct).

Afaik you will only need normal mount>epic mount>cheap flight>Flight Master's License to fly in Azeroth, as it's just an extra like cold weather, rather than an actual part of the mount skill.
 
Not sure if I should re-sub now or wait until it's released. :( Probably no point in leveling right now, just for everything to change and start again in a few weeks.
