** Official WoW Catalysm Alpha/Beta Thread **

In bartender options that is the Micro Menu or something similar - you can enable/disable/resize it etc from the options there.

hahahaha.

It was clearly bending the rules, nobody did it by accident.

Get a clue, many people have been banned for accidentally receiving cataclysm content.

For example in areas that were changed by the shattering mobs which were either introduced or changed had bugged loot tables, in this case mobs which were skinned had a chance to give savage leather, which should only be an skinnable from mobs in the 80+ zones.

This bug was reported in the beta and on the ptr yet wasn't acknowledged or looked into, and was not covered on mmo-champ or similar news sites, what would you suggest? That people refrain from levelling their professions until after blizzard fixed the bugs?

Edit :- and in my case how on earth is buying meat from the ah bending the rules, it's no different than buying northern spices from the ah.

I don't expect Colin will post in here again, but I thought i'd try on the off-chance he does.

Did anything come of this mate? Any conclusion to this "investigation"? Are you allowed to tell us more?

Are accounts still banned from future betas ? I must say I haven't checked my battle.net account for a while but would be crap to miss out on future beta's because of this **** up :(

A member here offered to send out alpha(?) invites to other forum users and we were all banned from the tests a few days into it. Don't think anyone knows why the ban happened (probably as we weren't really "friends or family") or if it will ever be lifted.

Might fire off an email tonight to Blizzard to see if they can give me an update. Although I am fully expecting the standard email back of "We cannot discuss this and Blizzard hold the rights to withdraw beta access to accounts".....

I emailed them a while back as I'm still banned from ALL PTRs and presumably betas over this. They basically said I had broken the rules somewhere and had therefore been banned. I question what exactly I had supposedly done, and received a snotty reply saying that they do not need to discuss that with me and they consider the matter closed.

Blizzard own all of your accounts and rent them out to you, they won't even remotely discuss anything with you unless they stand to gain some money from it.

Yea I figured that would be the case :( owell will see if I can get a friendly response back if not tbh its not the end of the world for me :p

Just an FYI, i had the same and i tried a few times to get unbanned... at one point they even said it would be escalated up to someone who could remove the banned account from from my battle.net account therefore making the character copy work with the new PTR account but it never came to pass

I did however find a solution, i had my bnet account bound to a personal domain name and i contacted them to say that i needed to switch the account over to a different battle.net as i was letting the domain expire and would no longer have access to that email address. They were only too glad to help and moved my wow and sc2 accounts over, i had to ticket them later on to get my deathy pet restored as it was bound to the battle.net account too

So it was a lie, but really i didnt deserved to be banned from using the PTR.. if i had done something banworthy id have taken it on the chin.

I suggest attempting the same but telling them you have lost access to the email address or something, so long as you can prove ownership via having the cd key, account details and the secret password it should be no issue. Make sure you create the new battle.net account first so they dont just update the email address on your existing one :)

Well whoever handed out the alpha invites was pretty dumb then, alpha is supposed to be private for family or very close friends, not a massive group of forum users.

Pretty much all of us were at fault for asking over the forum where Blizzard could easily check. With the time elapsed think most had thought Blizzard would forgive subscribers and allow them another chance.

Not that I'm grumbling though since we know it's our own fault. :) :o

The reason that we were given for being banned wasn't that we shouldn't have been in it (not sure where we stand on that, we'd have to see blizzard's actual policy given to its employees), but that somebody from this forum was leaking a LOT of NDA covered stuff to fan sites and it triggered an auto-ban for everyone invited from this group.
