** Official WoW Catalysm Alpha/Beta Thread **

I guess everyone banned from the Alpha is banned from all stages of Cata testing now. Thanks Blizz, I guess we should be thankful our battle.net accounts weren't banned :p
 
Thing is those of us who got banned in the alpha stage, got banned through no fault of our own.

Why are we paying the price for someone else's mistake ? Im going to assume Colin shouldn't of invited people as he's been AWOL pretty much since the bannings started happening.

What really ticks me off though is the fact not only were we banned from the Alpha, but we are also now banned from all future stages and the "PUBLIC" test realm.
 
My accounts been cancelled since the invites came so atleast I havent been paying for it. Will have to look into selling the account instead, couldn't care less if its against the TOS, if blizzard are going to be like this, then I see no reason why I should "comply" also.

Something broke with the authentication on the previous patch installation. I had to start from the beta .exe ran in administration mode before that patch, now it works straight off the launcher. I posted a fix earlier in the thread where I copied over 2 folders found in the cache files on a working laptop account that fixed an 'unable to connect' message on a fresh download on my desktop pc.

Try deleting these cache folders

C:\ProgramData\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache

[USER]\AppData\Local\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache

Does the 'banned' message change to 'unable to connect'?
 
It's nothing to do with an authentication problem.
1) it started weeks before any patches.
2) it says it on account management which uses a web browser that doesn't use those cache files.
 
Can you access the PTR character copy from Battle.net?

Try copying a character onto the beta. This might refresh your account on server side.

Hope we've still got a chance to get in future Blizz beta's! The SC2 beta account looks ok, but I will be wanting to be in Blizz's next mmo beta for sure.

This is what we're greeted with when clicking on "Manage" for either Catacylsm PTR or WoW PTR. In case anyone's wondering.

I am still here.

I am waiting to get positive info before posting. i have not forgotten or abandoned anyone, just not willing to post information that may not be correct. Lots of rumors and maybes, but until i know for certain, im not saying.

I only hope this issue resolves soon and you all get in to beta.

I, of course, apologise for the issue and at no point did i mean to get anyone banned from alpha/beta.

ColiN - cant do right for doing wrong :(
 
Don't worry about it Colin, I'm sure nobody here holds it against you for what happened, and I'm glad you're still looking into it for us.

Just to check, you're not in any trouble yourself over this are you?

For whatever it's worth, I'm happy to have been in the Alpha. I just hope that the **** didn't hit the fan for you personally over this.

Hopefully you can find out what the dealio is but even if you can't it doesn't change the fact that you were just trying to help us all out.
