** Official WoW Catalysm Alpha/Beta Thread **

Account is locked/banned/suspended. Preperation for beta? There's simply no logic in that. I'd be amazed if we still had automatic beta access too. Blizz kicked us with no warning and no explanation and so far as I can tell, it's only us that got kicked. Everybody else who can't login is suffering from authentication issues, so I don't really see how we're all in the same boat. Just have to wait 'til Cata is released :)
 
There are two hidden battle.net\cache folders that seem to be the source of log on problems since the last patch.

C:\ProgramData\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache

[USER]\AppData\Local\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache

Try deleting/backing up both cache folders then try to log on.

After an attempted log on. Copy the cache folder from C:\ProgramData\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache to [USER]\AppData\Local\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache

This seems to fix a lot of log on errors. Added bonus of no need to download any non Blizzard files.
 
GAY.

Lost my authenticator, so I can't log onto my main account. But why isn't it simpler to resolve? Despite giving them £9/month, Blizzard can't pay for 24h support.

Gonna have to phone them tomorrow, but I won't be bothering with an authenticator again. I daresay it's less hassle to run the extra risk of being hacked. :rolleyes:
 
Anyone tried logging in? I still need to d/l a patch, Battle.net is still showing my Cata PTR game account as "banned, locked, or suspended." though.

@mart981 Not tried yet, but my account remains with the same, disheartening status.

Just a quick note guys. Assume that the NDA is still in effect until we see the official word from Blizz.

EDIT1: Just getting word from a US mate in the Alpha that there's a post in the Alpha forums saying the NDA is lifted. Not seen official confirmation yet.

Before the latest downtime (just before my last post in this thread really) i tried logging in but i just got "unable to connect" not sure if thats better than "this account is banned" :confused:
 
Still banned, NDA's lifted? Good .. from what I DID play it was just more rehashed grinding, only noteable improvements for me were being able to fly around kalimdor/eastern kingdoms and the water shaders (which aren't that good) got bored very quickly with the goblin starting area and even more quickly with the worgen one.
