** Official WoW Catalysm Alpha/Beta Thread **

I got another reply that mostly dodged my points but also gave another confirmation that it shouldn't affect future testing, awaiting reply as to why it has done exactly that (unless by some twisted arrangment they don't count this phase of PTR as future testing)
 
anyone tried the ptr for 4.0.1?

whats currently op?

i hear destro locks are doing 16k unbuffed on single target dummy.

ill probably be a Goblin Lock :D

Well the EU PTR is currently completely useless as the character copy service is down, there are currently no level 80's on the PTR.

It's kind of irrelevant what DPS people are doing at lvl 80 in 4.0.1 as once you hit 85 combat ratings will increase massively and crit and haste levels will drop by more than half of what they are now and people will start gearing up again.

Shadow priests are critting Shadow Word: Death for 40k+ under 25% health and that's with ICC 25 gear, with the glyph if it doesn't kill the target there is no cooldown. That's going to be OP if they get heals so they don't kill themselves etc etc Many things are to be refined and still some changes I imagine.

Starting to think its just a bot that reads the emails to Blizzard.
 
Blizzard customer services are awful, i swear its just some bot that sends auto responses. The way they dealt with my hacked account was awful!

After a few more emails to and from blizzard, complete with the warning about my registered email account being hacked too, i get this.

Stupid ****. well I got it back in the end but it really was like trying to talking to a robot.
 
yea its stupidly annoying speaking to blizzard via emails.

I still have not got access into the PTR.... bloody lame. Still at least it looks like cata is not going to be that far off. I must say I am quite looking forward to it. Also noticed that they are making AQ20 into a 10man raid :D thats pretty awesome.

On a side note I got the white chicken from MGT HC the other day :) pretty happy it finally dropped. Only things left on grind list is:

Raptor - ZG
Raven Lord - SH
Barons mount - Strat
Midnight - Kara

I have to say I was surprised at how easy it was to solo Kara. I was really expecting it to be quite hard. Shame that it is still on the 1 week lock out tho :(

I've started to regrind for the ZG mounts this week. Takes me 10mins to get there and kill both, so quick and easy for me :)
 
Sooo, attempted to phone them this morning to try and talk to a human instead of a bot.
After an hour plus trying to get through i finally speak to someone (note according to the site the number was for any account issues you may have) who says it's not normally something they deal with and she'd find out who/what does and puts me back on hold, after 5min it cuts me off.

So not impressed.

EDIT: Got an email from the person i spoke to on the phone apologising for the cut off and saying they can't do anything. Great, looks like if any of us ever want our PTR access back it's in the hands of unoffical channels (i.e. colin)

i had similar issues G-Man. makes you sick, made me so sick ive quit playing as this beta access removal and the lack of customer support was just another notch on the hate train for wow/kotick hehe

well you might be right, however ive read what kotick is like and as hes the CEO over the whole company im sure he has a say of what route the blizzard side of things will/is taking.(i know he doesnt run blizz from day to day etc, but he must be in the line surely?)
i played wow for long enough to see how it was changed (for good and bad tbh) and the stuff ive read about kotick has given me the opinion that it rings true in some aspects of warcraft.
i am open to anything to suggest otherwise though

things like this dont help the cause though where peopel say kotick has no influence?
im not saying blizzard people dont have a say but it seems like kotick is the top of the foodchain/final decision maker
