****Official Xiaomi Mi 8 Thread****

I got mine a few days ago and the lack of notification icons is really annoying. Don;t see why they can't use the area where the clock is if you have notifications and show the clock if you don't.

Also android auto isn't working as you have black bars top and bottom so can't press any of the buttons.

Other than that it's a nice phone. Speed, screen, camera and battery life are all good.

I've just ordered one of these but have since read about the thermal throttling on the snapdragon 845 processor. Is this a real issue in real life performance or just bench marking? If it is a real issue what other phones should i be considering in the same price range. I have paid £468 for the 8gb 128g global version sold by a well known retailer. It also comes with a 2 year warranty.

No idea, my Mix 2S gets a bit toasty with extended gameplay, but I haven't noticed any throttling.

I believe the throttling issue only affects the MI 8.

I thought thought the MI 8 would be a popular phone on these forums but going by the lack of replies I think it is safe to assume that it isn't!!

The Mi8 and Mi8 PRO are under £300 now from a few UK retailers - is the throttling issue that bad?? I went to play some Ingress and Pokemon Go,and this is putting me off!!

People still play Pokemon!?

Personally not had many issues with throttling but I do hate miui so I can't recommend this phone :(
