Offline Quake Wars?

Hey guys,

I don't have an internet connection at the moment and wanted to check on a couple of points before I pick it up.

1. I heard Quake Wars has bots, are they good?
2. Can I play the game offline without being required to register or setup an online account for totally offline play? I know lots of people had trouble a while back with HL2 offline as they couldn't play without making a Steam account first and were stuck if they didn't have a connection.

The game asks for a CD key when you install it, but I have no idea if it goes online and checks this against anything. I doubt it though.

The bots are too bloody good

Usually the CD key check is just against the locally stored DB so should be fine, you didn't have to register an online account then Sleepy?

Um...can't remember if I had to set up an online account to play an offline skirmish to be honest.

You can play LAN-only mode without an account. We didn't try out bots however :/

yeah you don't need an internet connection to play, just select "play computer" from the top menu then you can play the bots in the 3 modes - and they're not bad either, though they don't really understand "teamwork"!
