Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows what clothing is best to buy to be put through a boil wash. I'll be working overseas so I've been looking at Adidas climacool or nike dri-fit but unsure if they'll handle the wash.

Do you just by the next size up to make up for shrinkage?

Cheers.

Offshore laundry will decimate your clothes. I foolishly bought a nike running t-shirt that fit me until it's first wash offshore and now it's comically sort when I do pull-ups. Buy the next size up.
Don't take anything on board that you don't want holed either because they use large safety pins to keep all your clothes in the one bundle and they don't put much thought into where they stab the item.

Sounds like you need to be having words with your campboss :o

Though I agree don't take your best gear, where I am at the moment the washing service is excellent, clothes come out in tact, clean and pressed and takes a total of about 5 hours from putting in the basket.

The only thing they shrink are my boiler suits, but that's more likely down to the cheap material mine are made from.

Get cheap crap.

As said above they wreck it in the on ship laundry.

I found I wore my fire suit most of the time, other than that I was in the gym or mess room trying not to spend all my money.

To be fair, it is okay most of the time but all it takes is one uncaring steward to use poke the area just below the neck of your t shirt and it's ruined. Best to just take out clothes you only use for work.
