anyone still play this?

I need something to play on the phone at work and was thinking of going back. what are the universes like now?

Jeez, memory flashback. I remember playing this back in the day. Not a bad little browser game to be honest, no idea how it holds up now though.

They still bring out new universe every now and then so still get numbers. Personally lost interest due to pay to win being an issue if you want to be competitive.

NO!

Don't ever mention this game, a game that nearly ruined me, that stopped me from sleeping. Damn you ogame!!!

This. I remember setting my alarm sometimes at stupid early hours in the morning to do a few things on the game before going back to sleep. on work days too!

Was going to start a new thread but thought I'd resurrect this. Anyone on here playing OGame? I normally go on every couple days to buy more defenses and use up my resources. Don't really actively attack anyone as I don't want to get caught up in any alliances.

Wow!! I was just thinking of this game again, after years of forgetting about it, I got into it like everyone else but ultimately after losing 3 accounts to inactivity/ accessing on other IP addresses ( LAN centre) I gave up.

I had a friend who got me to play OGAME then disappeared for months leaving me to play this game in two accounts, one in Spanish and one in English so I could understand the Spanish one.

Needless to say, if you don't play it 247, you will lose, you will lose your fleet and you will get farmed.

I keep logging in each week to keep my accounts in sleep mode, am still deciding if I want to delete my accounts or play again.

Games like this are too time sensitive.

I played OGAME for years, then moved onto astroempires. I couldnt take the fleetsave costs and alarm clocks any more.

Very similar game, but not so time sensitive and you dont have to fleetsave every day. Interface works fine on a phone and I found it a lot more fun.

Having said all that I am winding down from it, it gets a bit samey after a few servers. They are implementing changes next month which will likely spice things up a bit though, worth a look as an alternative for sure.

Ogame. Bloody hell this takes over your life. You have to rearrange your calender to suit the game :) and the early mornings.....

I guess I've just been lucky and haven't been attacked much. Just turtling really so I have a lots of defenses and not many resources lying around so probably not very attractive for a raid

I play Neptunes Pride 2 which is kinda similar. It also works on the hourly 'ticks', however it plays more like an RTS game. You've got research (Each research lab produces one point per tick), factories (Each factory produces 1 ship per day, modified by manufacturing research) and economic upgrades (Gives you 10 credits every 24th tick).

The gameplay is in some ways much simpler than ogame, you play in a galaxy with just 7 other people generally, but equally this makes the game much more personal as you all vie for control of the galaxy, aliances are made and broken. Plus it is constantly updated by the dev, which is always a great sign.

A rather old overview, the interface is much better now but the core gameplay hasn't really changed.

Well worth checking out. The game is also done in html5 so it works on pretty much any mobile device too for playing at work :D
