Don't convert them, instead install Rockbox on your ipod (if your model is supported)

You don't want to transcode files from one lossy to another lossy format, you'll loose sound quality

Switching firmwares just to listen to a few songs hardly seems worth the effort. Transcode them to mp3, lose a bit of sound quality through lossy-to-lossy conversion, and call it a day.

Says someone who hasn't used alternative, superior firmware for DAP's? I haven't used the stock firmware since changing it to Rockbox.

And not only because of new format support either.

Worth the "effort" or lack thereof.

You doth presume too much. I've been running iPodLinux with great success for more than a year now.
