Oh crap! Need a wireless key.

Howzit guys.

Well, I've just reformatted one of my work computers which is also on our wireless setup. Now I've just realised I've lost the peice of papper with our wireless key settings on it.

I looked on the router it won't show the key, nor will the other machines on the network.

So, is there anyway I can 'scan' the network for the key or get it another way?

I can't reset it as the machines are always in use..so, ja..

Any help wuld be great!

If it was that easy, it wouldn't be a very secure network.

You'll have to ask your IT admin people.

You might be able to find a password revealer that you can run on one of the other laptops to reveal the key.

It must be somewhere on the router's interface when you log in as admin, surely?

I am the I.T admin. It isn, but it just shows dots. Not the password at all..

Looks like I might have to just change the key..

View source on the page in your browser admin - it'll likely be there in clear text.

What set up you run?

Access points controled by a server? Or individual accesspoints?

Just for future reference, there is a very handy tool at the site below that allows you to pull the wireless key from a machine where it has been stored. Very handy when people don't document all the tech info at a customers site...
