Oh darn - its not working!

Sounds like the MB then, can you try the GFX card in another machine (don't think it's that but...) also try a different 16x slot? Got a PCI GFX card you can slip in just to see the boot messages (if any) - with and without the PCIe GFX card in.

Plug the GPU in without power connectors mine makes a god awful screech noise- Will let ya know if its alive at least (I've got 8800 ultras)

Just an update - I RMA'd the MoBo and OCUK have dispatched another one to me. Should get it early next week.

I will relate my experience of trying to get it to work - and if it dosnt I will be on here screaming for advice (again!).

OK I'm going to test the new MoBo today.

I am going to set it up outside the case, put the CPU in,(& cooler & fan power) 1 stick of ram into slot A1 and the GFX card in. I will connect up the 20(?) pin connector on the back edge of the card, the 8 pin one up by the CPU and the mobo's two psu connectors. The Mobo P6TDelux has a powerswitch built in.

That should be just enough to see if it will post, right?

I lied about testing the MoBo that day - didnt get round to it.

But interestingly - the new MoBo is a V2! The SAS port is gone.

The other crucial difference is it seems to be working!
It confirms the MoBo was at fault. Thank god I didnt trash the CPU (yet!) and the ram hopefully is ok as its all in (3X2gb).

Its installing Vista 64bit now, or at least i think it is.

Lee.
