Oh dear, look what's happened to My Music!

I just formatted and I changed the destination of my docs to target D:\ partition and all my albums now show up as "Copy of":.

Is there anyway to get rid of this instead of renaming each album which could take a while.

Try this program http://www.snapfiles.com/download/dlpwfilerenamer.html , I use it for renaming files but I imagine it works for folders, it'll let you delete x number of letters at the start, end or middle of a file name or add letters.

You sure its definately not just copied the folders?....

If so, a rename tool is what you're after...... google will proberly be quicker then awaiting replies.

Google something like "folder find and rename" or something to that degree, there's free apps out there that do it, i know i've used a couple in the past.

When you moved your docs, did you click on my documents, then click move ?

Only time ive seen this happen is when you move the files first, then do the above.

Just seen that, was a god send for me as I just had to rename about 500 files in different folders!

I tried it on folders and it worked fine. You may need to change the settings.

500s not that many music files? Even if its folders - 500 albums isn't that much (30 gig maybe)

RealPlayer?

RealPlayer can rename the selected files and place them into named sub-folders.
