Hello! Recently built my new PC, and have stumbled upon a small problem. Both the onboard graphics and the graphics card seated in the PCI Ex.16 (3.0) have no output when connected to a screen, through either HDMI or the usual monitor socket. The board and case have no piezo speaker, so no post beeps either. The cpu appears to be working, as it is generating heat, as are all the fans.

Here's all the bits used.

1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £184.99
1 x MSI HD 7750 Power Edition Transthermal OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £77.99
1 x MSI Z77A-G43 Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £71.99
1 x PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III Series 600W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply - White £53.99
1 x Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (WD5000AAKX) £49.99
1 x Aerocool Vs-4 Midi Tower Case - Black £27.98
1 x GeIL Black Dragon 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (GD38GB1600C11DC) £23.99
1 x Samsung SH-224BB/BEBE 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £14.99

Any ideas?

Have you got power into the GFX card (6 pin PCi-E I think)

Have you got the additional 4/8pin ATX inti the board near the CPU?

Try a clearCMOS.

Do you get a display from the motherboard with the GFX card physically removed?

Use the basics needed (single stick of RAM and no drives)

Had both the 6pin PCI-E and the 4+4pin CPU cables in. Removed the graphics card and unplugged the hdd and now get a black screen with:

boot and Select proper Boot device
Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key_

So you need to press Delete (or whatever key it is) to get into the BIOS as it boots up.

Try and refit the GFX card (you where putting it in the first 16X slot?) as you may not have had it seated right.

If not that doesnt work then you may have to do a BIOS update.

I bought an MSI board recently and it would not boot with an nVidia 660 video card installed.

The bios required an update to simply recognize the card. Quite annoying at the time.

Sorry for the lack of reply. I updated everything, even considered removing the secondary fan from the gfx card. After everything was updated and device manager showed no problems, I reinstalled the card. Works a dream! Thanks for the help, everyone. :)
