If this is true it spells very bad news for the PC as future releases will just in general be the 360 game running on a PC via a Windows 8 emulator
already we are getting some junk ported this will even stop that why will they bother if the 360 version runs on a PC no need to make any PC specific version is there!
No wonder MS are not interested in progressing the PC gaming world if their apparent plan is to force Xlive onto us via a new OS capable of running original 360 games (nice idea as an add-on but not for the future) all the while they are working on a DX11 based new console to be announced in 2012........... this move will also force the downsizing of Steam & other digital download distributors as PC games will shrink drastically if the OS is designed around running the 360 DVD via an emulator.
I hope it never happens but it sounds as though it will as MS shutdown the GFWL dedicated forums & moved them to the xbox forums (all xbox forums are horrible now the website is very poor) the lack of anything specific from MS recently makes it look on the outside like they are gearing up to implement this on their new OS to kickstart gaming on PC using the existing Xlive features & games software which will obviously save them a lot of money & hurt their PC based competitors who rely on PC games to make money like Steam do. By all means make a 360 emulator capable of running the games on PC but forcing it onto the consumer will never work other than reduce the PC games market as publishers are already finding excuses to not do much on PC
