Ok thought Id be silly and get a BIG psu for my next project..... (saves buying another powerful one later...)

so Overclockers sent me a new Enermax Galaxy 850 watt......

and it has lots of nice shiny modular leads that I will probably never use lol.... and a nice 24 Pin mainboard power supply..... alas my old Asus K8vSE wants a 20 pin feed......

is there some kind of adaptor or have I goofed big time ?

lol... and a new cpu ... memory... graphics card.... etc etc .... damn it - why oh why do they have every available connection in the world... except for 20 pin boards ggggrrrrrr

Lesson to be learnt I guess ;)

nope :(

just 1 big solid block....

You sure, most 24x pins have 4x removable pins for a 20x pin mobo, and looking at the pic here you can clearly see the groove at the top end of where the 4x pins would come away.

As above though just get an Adapter if the 4x pins don't come away as your gona have to pay to send that one back, then your gona get charged a re-stocking fee, but from the pic of the cables above it looks like they do as said, definately looks removable to me. :)

Ive also just read that if the 4x pin aint removable then there should be a slight space next to em so that you can still plug it into a 20x pin connector, just the 4x pins would overhang.

Have you at least tried it.

ah thanks fellas... ordered the adaptor....

yeah it kinda looks like it does come apart in the picture but it definately dont.

EDIT :
doh - just pushed it on ... just about fits... theres a capacitor thingy right next to where the extra pins are.... lol... better cancel the adaptor order ..

Thanks fellas - just didnt wanna just push it on and damage anything.
